Patent number: 5369684Abstract: The present invention provides a mobile communications system in which the home exchange of a mobile subscriber maintains information indicative of where the mobile subscriber might be found, Upon receipt of a call, the home exchange requests the exchange where the mobile is believed to be located to page it and then requests the answering exchange(s) to order the mobile to tune to a voice/traffic channel. Only after the successful completion of this process does the answering exchange report this to the home exchange which then orders routing of the call through the network.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1994Date of Patent: November 29, 1994Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventors: Nancy Buhl, John Hayes, Harald Kallin

Patent number: 5347924Abstract: Device for printing endorsements on documents passing through a document processing apparatus. The device comprises a rotatable outer housing having a cylindrically shaped exterior surface and a ring gear having a toothed first part and a toothless second part. A stamp for printing endorsements and at least one band having digits or characters thereon form a substantially continuos surface with the exterior surface of the outer housing. When the endorsing device is rotated by a pinion meshing with the ring gear, the digits or characters, as well as the stamp, contact a document passing through the document processing apparatus. During the rotation of the outer housing, further rotation is prevented by an arm which engages a projection on the outer housing and biasing means which biases the arm into locked engagement with the projection. When the arm engages the projection, the pinion is unable to rotate the outer housing as the toothless part of the ring gear is now facing the pinion.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 1991Date of Patent: September 20, 1994Assignee: Amper, S.A.Inventor: Emilio B. Patent number: 5343624Abstract: A measurement tool adapted for measuring surfaces of a known desired curvature and specifically grooves, holes, chips, gouges, chafing and/or out of round areas therein. The measurement device is constructed with an attachment member having a curvature matching the "set up" curvature of the part to be measured. The measuring member or probe, is sharpened to permit it to extend through an aperture formed in the attachment member for facilitating its initial setting relative to the attachment member and the surface to be measured. Any movement of the probe during measurement is then a manifestation of a deviation from the original "set up" curvature.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 1992Date of Patent: September 6, 1994Assignee: American Airlines, Inc.Inventor: Daniel A. Symons

Patent number: 5333864Abstract: An improved, integrally molded table soccer playing figure has an elongated body with head and foot portions disposed at its opposite ends. A cylindrical passage axially extends laterally through an upper portion of the body and is adapted to coaxially receive a longitudinal portion of an actuating rod used to rotate and translate the playing figure. To significantly reduce the connection stress concentration on the rod and the playing figure mounted thereon, the body passage is diametrically sized to create a press-fit between the body portion and the rod portion therein, and the body is mechanically locked to the rod by a small roll pin longitudinally inserted through aligned openings in the body and rod. The ability of the body portion to withstand high lateral impact loads is enhanced by the integral formation on its opposite lateral sides of relatively large diameter force receiving and diffusing washer portions.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1992Date of Patent: August 2, 1994Inventor: Calvin E. Patent number: 5328302Abstract: A pneumatic air feed peck drill adapted to drill in repetitive cycles including a rapid advance phase, a slower drilling phase, and a rapid retract phase. The rapid advance phase ends and the drilling phase begins at a set back position, an adjustable distance from the workpiece, to minimize a drill bit and workpiece damage. The drill includes a drill motor and feed cylinder powered by air to rotate and advance and retract the drill motor. The drill motor and feed cylinder is coupled with an air and mechanical control system including a hydraulic feed control unit having a piston rod coupled with the drill motor to dampen the advance of the drill motor during the drilling phase and to release for rapid retract and advance phases.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1992Date of Patent: July 12, 1994Assignee: Indresco, Inc.Inventor: Richard E. Patent number: 5319882Abstract: An angulated door assembly affording reduced entry and exit time and motion therethrough. Each door is angulated relative to the adjacent walls and/or the conventional path of ingress/egress therethrough. Such an assembly configuration affords increased sealing capacity as well as convenience for the user. The door opens and closes faster by swinging less than a conventional door, which presents itself orthogonally to the path of ingress/egress. By utilizing a pair of angulated doorways, the doors self-seal against each other while providing the advantages of angulated disposition relative to the path of ingress/egress.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 1991Date of Patent: June 14, 1994Assignee: Butler Manufacturing CorporationInventor: Lawrence Biebuyck
