Abstract: An explosive composition for high temperature applications comprises the reactant thorium and molybdenum trioxide. This composition when reacted liberates great amounts of thermal energy at extremely high temperatures in excess of 4000.degree. K forming reaction products of thorium dioxide and molybdenum.
