Abstract: An auxiliary wheel set adapted for aftermarket installation on two-wheeled hand trucks. The apparatus includes a right vertical support and left vertical support, each having a leg portion with an upper section and a lower end, and a shoulder at its upper portion from which an upper arm extends outwardly substantially perpendicular to the leg. Each upper arm terminates in a curved elbow which connects the upper arm to a lower arm which extends inwardly and substantially parallel to the upper arm. A spreader bar is welded between the vertical supports to provide bracing. Locking caster wheels are disposed on the respective lower ends of the legs. The lower arms are journalled in bushings, which are, in turn, removably installed onto the side rails of a hand truck with U-bolts attached to first and second integral pivot plates. The wheel set selectively pivots between a stored position and a deployed position.
Abstract: A bridge system (10) for a stringed instrument having means to adjust independent bridge elements longitudinally, vertically, and laterally. The bridge (10) elements include a unit (20), a control anchor (300) having a ring (340) and bolted to the instrument body through an elongate opening in the ring (340). A longitudinal adjustment screw (390) connects the control anchor (300) to the saddle/base unit (20), and the structural base (100) includes a height adjustment screw (180) that engages the saddle (200). Multidimensional adjustments can be made with a single tool.
Abstract: A hydraulic monitoring method and apparatus provides a monitoring system which replaces the void or air space within the interstitial/annular volume of double wall piping with an inert environmentally safe, food grade, hydraulic liquid. Monitoring of the liquid provides rapid, real time sensing of any alarm phase or mode. The method identifies primary piping failures or any secondary containment piping breech or wall penetration with an immediate level change within the fluid sensor monitor reservoirs. If the fluid level decreases, a breech in the secondary containment piping is evidenced. If the fluid level increases, a primary piping wall failure is indicated. This level change can be electronically monitored for rapid system alert and/or system/pump shutdown.

Abstract: A kite safety, control, and depowering device for a kite having an airfoil with leading and trailing edges, at least two control lines attached to the airfoil and a control flying bar attached to at least two of the control lines. The device features a continuous trim and safety flying line disposed at their lower ends over a rapid depowering apparatus. The depowering apparatus includes means for capturing and rapidly releasing an expansion disposed on the trim line, such that when rapid depowering is required, a simply release mechanism may be actuated to change the angle of attack of the airfoil rapidly.
Abstract: Cleat with gasket comprising a rigid horizontally disposed elongate bar and a plurality of vertically disposed support members. The upper portion of the support member is attached to the bar. The mid portion of the support structure poses a horizontally disposed flat plate, the underside of which is recessed to receive a resilient gasket. A threaded post extends down from the underside of the recess so that it can penetrate the deck of a boat. The gasket protrudes slightly from the recessed area and is compressed in a controlled way when a nut on the treaded post is tightened forcing the flat plate down onto the deck of a boat thereby eliminating the chance of leakage through the deck.
Abstract: A road paving equipment tire track remover having a pair of blade assemblies, each including a semi-flexible blade with a lower edge and an upper edge. The upper edge is affixed to and shaped by a V-shaped frame so as to create a concave front side of the blade. The blade assembly is attached to the surface of a road paving vehicle near and behind the rear wheels of the vehicle in such a manner that the lower edge of the blade is in contact with the road surface. The blade assembly also includes a parallel scissors assembly to allow for vertical movement of the blade while in use, and a weight box to selectively adjust the pressure exerted by the blade on the road surface.

Abstract: A temporary rooftop and stairway safety rail system (16a & 16b) adapted to prevent workers from falling from a work surface at a height. The system includes a plurality of safety rail support assemblies (16) having a vertical support member (52) with members for retaining horizontally disposed safety rail boards (58). The safety rail support assemblies (16) may be mounted on walls (22) and roof rafters (18), and the pitch of the vertical support members is easily adjusted to the slope of the work surface using a system of removable pins (32).
Abstract: Composting apparatuses and composting methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, a composting apparatus includes a housing and a plurality of composting drawers in the housing. The plurality of composting drawers is in a stacked relationship when in the housing, and each drawer includes a bottom region having a plurality of apertures. A plurality of receiving structures is in the housing, and the receiving structures are respectively disposed under the plurality of composting drawers to receive composted material.
Abstract: An apparatus for launching a surfacewave onto a single conductor transmission line provides a launch including a flared, continuously curving cone portion; a coaxial adapter portion; a wire adapter portion for contacting the wire conductor which allows for a multiplicity of wire dimensions for either insulated or uninsulated wire, or a tri-axial wire adapter device enabling non-contacting coupling to a wire; and a longitudinal slot added to the flared cone, wire adapter, and coaxial adapter portions of the launch to allow direct placement of the launch onto existing lines, without requiring cutting or threading of those lines for installation.
