Abstract: A pressure switch for use within a pressure chamber containing a gas having a pressure of P.sub.2, said switch including a pressure vessel containing gas having a pressure of P.sub.1, said vessel circumscribed by an end wall at one end thereof, side walls and closed at the second end by a flexible diaphragm, said diaphragm biased in a first position and subjected to P.sub.2 on one surface thereof and to P.sub.1 on the other surface thereof, said diaphragm assuming said first position when P.sub.2 does not exceed P.sub.1 by a predetermined amount and assuming a second position under P.sub.2 when P.sub.2 does exceed P.sub.1 by said amount, and switch means operatively associated with movement of said diaphragm.
Abstract: A belt winder with a quick-locking vehicle inertia sensitive action including a ball and tipping member which can be brought into operative position in any mounting position in space.
Abstract: Lock for a safety belt with a push-button and a slide in tongue arrangement, wherein the push-button cooperates with a guide part and they are formed of two separate elements, each provided with an inclined face.
Abstract: A belt winder with a quick-locking vehicle inertia sensitive action comprising an inert mass actuated to lock the belt winder shaft when the vehicle is accelerated and which can be brought into operative position in any mounting position in space.
Abstract: Apparatus for variably controlling the burn time of a fixed amount of gas generating material used for inflating purposes. Gas developed by combustion of the gas generating material passes through a conduit. A blocking means is provided which, when selectively disposed in the conduit, decreases the cross-sectional area thereof and partially blocks the flow of the generated gas therethrough. The burn time of the gas generating material then decreases and the mass flow rate of the generated gas through the conduit is increased. The apparatus is especially adapted for use with motor vehicle passive restraint systems wherein, upon impact of the vehicle, a bag is rapidly inflated by the gas to protect passengers or other mobile objects of the vehicle.
Abstract: A reel type retractor for a safety belt having at least two locking pawls, staggered in relation to ratchet teeth incorporated into the reel and arranged for independent engagement therewith.
Abstract: A device in a seat belt buckle for motivating and deenergizing electrical circuitry for activating and deactivating a force suppression device which acts in a seat belt retractor. The device includes both fixed and movable contacts and linkage structure which is activated and deactivated by activation of push-button structure on the buckle.
