Abstract: Systems and methods for executing a computer program within a multiple processor grid computing environment. Execution behavior of the computer program is captured while the computer program is sequentially executing. The captured execution behavior is linked with steps contained in the source code version of the computer program. The captured execution behavior that is linked with the supplemented source code version is analyzed in order to determine dependencies between a step of the computer program and one or more other steps of the computer program. A determination is made of which task or tasks within the computer program can be processed through the grid computing environment based upon the determined dependencies.

Abstract: Systems and methods for increasing communications bandwidth using non-orthogonal polarizations are provided herein. Under one aspect, a method of transmitting M independent signals, where M is at least 3, includes receiving the M signals from respective sources; at a transmitter polarization module, obtaining first and second linear combinations of the M signals; providing the first and second linear combinations to first and second input ports of a transmitter antenna; and transmitting with the transmitter antenna the first linear combination at a first polarization and the second linear combination at a second polarization orthogonal to the first polarization. The method may further include receiving at a receiver antenna the first linear combination at the first polarization, and the second linear combination at the second polarization; obtaining at receiver circuitry the M signals based on the received first and second linear combinations; and outputting the M signals on respective output ports.

Abstract: A portable, battery-operated flashlight having improved pivoting, switching and focusing features is disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, the flashlight takes the form of an attachment to a head gear for hands free use. In another aspect of the invention, the flashlight takes the form of a head lamp held in place on an user's head by an elastic band. The pivot connection between the body and the base, as well as the serrations on an exterior surface of the body, allows a user to adjust any angular direction of the light as desired. In another aspect of the invention, the flashlight takes the form of a long-handled flashlight having improved switching and focusing capabilities, such that axial movement of the switching assembly turns the flashlight “on” or “off,” as well as causing a position of the lamp to vary in order to focus or defocus the light.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a cap supply device having a simple and inexpensive structure and which is capable of supplying caps all directed in the same direction. Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods for analyzing costs associated with a cost flow model having components of relationships and entities. A system and method can be configured to receive a data associated with the cost flow model as well as source-entity definitions, via-entity sets, and target-entity definitions. A set of linear equations is created that is representative of the costs and entity relationships, wherein data about certain relationships satisfying a removal criteria are not included in the matrices. The system of linear equations is solved to determine contribution values from the source entities to the target entities through the via-sets.

Abstract: The present invention refers to Tat as the active principle for a prophylactic and/or therapeutic vaccine against HIV infection, the progression towards AIDS and the development of tumors and other syndromes and symptoms in subjects infected by HIV. Tat is in biologically active form either as recombinant protein or peptide or as DNA. More particularly, the invention refers to a vaccine based on HIV-1 Tat as immunogen, inoculated as DNA and/or recombinant protein or as peptides, alone or in combination with other genes or viral gene products (Nef, Rev, Gag) or parts thereof, or in combination with various immuno-modulant cytokines (IL-12, IL-15) or with the gene coding for an immuno-modulant cytokine or part thereof. Tat, Nef, Rev, Gag and the immuno-modulant cytokines are administrated both as a mixture of recombinant proteins, peptides or fusion proteins (Tat/Nef, Tat/Rev, Tat/Gag, Tat/IL-12, Tat/IL-15) or as plasmid DNA.
Abstract: Provided herein are sulfurized metal alkyl phenate compositions having a low alkyl phenol content. The sulfurized metal alkyl phenate compositions can be prepared by reacting a phenol compound of Formula (I) disclosed herein with an aldehyde to form a phenolic resin of Formula (II) disclosed herein and then by reacting the phenolic resin simultaneously with a metal base and a first sulfurizing agent. The sulfurized metal alkyl phenate compositions and the overbased sulfurized metal alkyl phenate compositions disclosed herein may be used as detergents for formulating lubricating oil compositions. The lubricating oil compositions disclosed herein have a reduced amount of the free phenol compound and a salt thereof.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for routing are provided in which a connection track comprising a plurality of network or transport layer packets, received by a router, is identified by examination of header fields of one or more first packets in the plurality of packets. One or more quality of service (QoS) parameters is associated with the connection track by determining whether the track encodes a data type by (i) an identification of a predetermined application protocol used within the one or more first packets and/or (ii) a comparison of a payload of one or more packets in the plurality of packets to known data type formats. A first QoS parameter is set to a first value in a first value range when the connection track contains the first data type. The connection track is routed through the router in accordance with the one or more QoS parameters assigned to the connection track.
