Abstract: An adhesive copolyamide composition having a dry powder DSC melting point of at least 100.degree. C., a glass transition temperature above 60.degree. C., a dry powder softening point of at least 100.degree. C., preferably a water content after storage in water of more than 20% by weight, and a wet softening point of less than 100.degree.. Such compositions exhibit softening points and heat resistances in excess of 100.degree. C. and can be processed and set at substantially lower temperatures. No low molecular weight additives are required nor are any solvents necessary. The compositions are comparable in their heat-resistance, softening points, and bond strength to conventional high performance hot melt adhesives.

Abstract: A compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is lower alkyl,R.sup.3 is hydrogen, halogen or ar(lower)alkoxy, andR is lower alkanoyl, nitroso, amino, carboxy, esterified carboxy, carbamoyl, hydroxycarbamoyl, haloformyl, aminomethyleneamino which may be substituted with cyano or lower alkyl, iminomethylamino which may be substituted with cyano or lower alkyl, or a group of the formula: --A--R.sup.2 in which A is lower alkylene andR.sup.2 is di(lower) alkylamino, cyano, lower alkoxy, N-containing heterocyclic group which may have suitable substituent(s), lower alkynyloxy, lower alkenyloxy, lower alkylthio, amino(lower)alkylthio, lower alkylsulfinyl, lower alkylsulfonyl, carboxy, esterified carboxy, carbamoyl, hydroxycarbamoyl, hydroxy, lower alkanoyloxy, heterocyclicamino(lower)alkylthio having two oxo groups, hydrogen or a group of the formula: ##STR2## in which R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are each lower alkyl andX is an acid residue,and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.

Abstract: In the optical system of an electrophotographic copying apparatus embodying movable mirrors, it is of the utmost importance that these mirrors be properly aligned relatively to one another. In the present invention, two of the mirrors mounted at right angles to one another on a slidable frame which moves at half the speed of another movable mirror, are mounted on that frame for slight pivotal movement. This pivotal movement is controllable to provide adjustment of errors in the optical system and when adjustment is completed the mirrors are fixed in place.

Abstract: A lock is provided having a cover and a casing in which the cover is normally removable from the lock. The casing has an opening to receive a bolt therethrough, and means on the cover to engage the bolt whereby the cover cannot be removed from the casing when the bolt is in its advanced position.
