  • Patent number: 5093290
Abstract: The deterioration of strength at high temperature of Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 --Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 --AlN series silicon nitride-type sintered bodies is reduced by employing Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 --MgO--AlN series as a sintering aid wherein the stoichiometrical ratio of Y, Mg and Al in the sintered body is controlled to a specific range, thereby decreasing the glass phase to decrease deterioration of strength at high temperatures. Assuming Y as A.sub.1 mol, Mg as B.sub.1 mol and A.sub.1 as C.sub.1 mol based on one mol of Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 in the sintered body, the specific range, wherein each of A.sub.1, B.sub.1 and C.sub.1 is not less than 0, satisifies the conditions: ##EQU1## and the crystal phase of Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 consisting of an .alpha.-Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 phase in which a part of Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 is replaced by Y, Mg, O and Al, and a .beta.-Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 phase in which a part of Si.sub.3 N.sub.

  • Patent number: 4918977
Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid leakage detector line for detecting the leakage, if occurs, of a liquid such as sulfuric acid or strong alkali from a transportion pipe line or a storage tank. The liquid leakage detector line comprises: a pair of wiry electrodes each including a conductor covered with an insulator layer made of macromolecular material including an ester bond, the wiry electrodes being disposed substantially in parallel with each other; and a liquid-absorbent material covering these wiry electrodes. The liquid-absorbent material may be a braided body layer made of liquid-absorbent yarn which is disposed outside of the pair of wiry electrodes, or may be a braided body layer similar to the first-mentioned braided body layer which is disposed at the outer periphery of each of the wiry electrodes. If a sulfuric acid or alkali liquid leaks, the liquid-absorbent material covering the wiry electrodes absorbs such leakage liquid.

  • Patent number: 4809466
Abstract: A method of clamping rotationally symmetrical workpieces for their circumferences to be ground, whereby the radial positioning, the clamping and the axial positioning of the workpiece are effected independently of one another, so that the positioning operation is not affected by the clamping operation and is accurately maintained. In addition, a clamping device for implementing the method includes a first member which radially positions the workpiece, a second member which clamps the workpiece for transferring torque, and a third member which axially positions the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4730993
Abstract: A squeeze pump comprising: a casing having an arcuate inner peripheral surface; a resilient tube bent arcuately in the casing and having opposite ends projecting outwardly from the casing through openings therein; a rotary shaft disposed in an axis of the casing; and at least a pair of squeezing means mounted on the rotary shaft in the casing, the squeezing means including a pair of roller shafts extending perpendicularly to the rotary shaft, and a pair of squeeze rollers rotatably mounted on the respective roller shafts and rollable on opposite side surfaces of the resilient tube and revolvable at the same time about the rotary shaft for compressing the resilient tube from opposite sides thereof to transmit slurry in the casing, each of the squeeze rollers being divided along its axis into three independently rotatable roller sections, namely, a base end roller section constituting a base portion of the squeeze roller, a distal end roller section constituting a distal end portion of the squeeze roller, and a
