  • Patent number: 6195805
Abstract: A unique powder-free medical glove fabricated from a neoprene copolymer, and a method of making same is described. The gloves of the invention are easily donned without the use of powdered donning agents and retain their puncture resistance, tensile strength, stress at 500% and elongation to break after post-processing by chlorination and sterilization by irradiation. Additionally, the gloves of the invention exhibit minimal discoloration (as measured by the per cent change in yellowness index) and minimal stickiness to themselves and to glove packing materials after sterilization by irradiation.

  • Patent number: 4119991
Abstract: A compact, simple, fully automatic table-top plate processor for developing offset plates which are inserted horizontally in the front and ejected horizontally from the rear using paired transport rollers and brush rollers training the plate at the exit and thus provides a finished press-ready or storable plate in one cycle. Top rollers fit into essentially vertical slots and have keyed bearings to prevent rotation. The roller drive motor is of such a speed as to provide the proper dwell time prior to the plate being brushed on both sides. The processor provides automatic developing of the plate in an essentially horizontal feed-through operation permitting use on the top of an existing table surface and requiring a minimum of space. By combining the gum into the developer solution the need for several stages (develop, rinse, condition, gum, etc.) is eliminated and this one step machine provides a unique compactness of design.

  • Patent number: 4045129
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus in the form of a holder for hard mounting an optical member to a rigid base in order to maintain the relative spatial alignment of the assembly in the presence of differential thermal expansion of the elements of the assembly. The apparatus or holder comprises a tubular member terminating at one end with a base for attachment to the mounting structure for the assembly, while at its opposite end the holder has flange portions for engaging the optical member. The longitudinally extending portion of the holder comprises thin wall, spring finger members which are disposed to establish bilateral symmetry in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the holder, which bilateral symmetry assures the maintenance of the spatial alignment of the members of the assembly. The optical member is hard mounted to the flange of the assembly by a suitable rigid epoxy.

  • Patent number: 4042473
Abstract: Apparatus and a process for electroylic recovery of silver from fixing baths obtained by development of photographic films wherein the fixing bath solution coming from the tank for the fixing bath to the development apparatus is fed from the development apparatus into one chamber in a recovery apparatus comprising two chambers until the said first chamber is filled whereupon the silver precipitation is started in the said chamber; an automatic redirection of the liquid flow from the development apparatus to the second chamber of the recovery apparatus is made to the said second chamber which being filled with liquid during the precipitation process in the first chamber. After concluded silver precipitation in the first chamber the liquid treated therein is automatically fed to the sewage. When the second chamber has been filled the precipitation process in the same is started. Simultaneously the liquid flow from the development apparatus is automatically fed to the first chamber which now is empty.

  • Patent number: 4036339
Abstract: A noise is generated unavoidably owing to hunting phenomenon that appears in process of increasing or decreasing torque to be transmitted by a hydraulic coupling in a hitherto known type, when it is subjected to change of the ambient temperature.A purpose of this invention is to provide a new and unique hydraulic coupling which enables hydraulic connection to be effected very quickly in such a way that engagement or disengagement between ferrite and magnet is applied to transfer mechanism in hydraulic coupling, depending on the ambient temperature. The above purpose of the invetion has been accomplished as follows.Magnetical attractive force between ferrite and magnet is predetermined to overcome spring force in a normal temperature, and working temperature for this new mechanism according to the invention is selected around at Curie temperature of said ferrite material.

  • Patent number: 4022355
Abstract: A cartridge for containing and dispensing caulking compound comprises an elongated tubular member, generally cylindrical in configuration, one end of which has a fixed end wall including a dispensing opening therethrough and a spout attached to the end wall, while the other end of the tubular member is closed by a resilient, annular, floating member slidably mounted within the tubular member. The floating member is impervious and is made of a flexible material. When employed in conjunction with a standard caulking gun of the plunger type, the force of the plunger bears directly on the floating member which thereby expands in diameter and decreases in width and transmits pressure to the caulking for dispensing. When the plunger is suddenly withdrawn, the expansion of the floating member effectively absorbs the pressure forces within the cartridge thereby minimizing the amount of undesirable leakage of the caulking from the cartridge.
