Patent number: 6823811Abstract: An article or buoy board for mooring a buoy to a dock post when a boat is being moored at a dock that includes an elongated board with slotted end portions and having a front surface and a back surface. Straps are affixed to the front surface of the board for positioning the back surface of the board against the dock post. A stretchable cord such as a bungee cord passes through the slotted end portions of the board for attaching a buoy to the front surface of the board for contact with the boat side. The back surface of the board is provided with a lengthwise groove for receiving the stretchable cord and the back surface of the board is further provided with a shock-absorbing pad such as rubber for holding the stretchable cord in place within the groove and for minimizing shock as the boat is moored. Patent number: 5992318Abstract: The invention is a system for a printing press which maintains the density of the colored ink put down on a moving paper web. The system includes a scanning device having a strobe light for illuminating a color patch in a color bar which runs transversely across the web, a camera for photographing the illuminated color patch and a step motor for moving the scanner incrementally across the web. Actuation of the scanner is timed through a microprocessor using input from an optical sensor and encoder. A signal is sent from the camera to a computer which determines the density of the color patch shot. A work station calculates how much the existing ink control console must be adjusted to maintain density and a command signal is sent from the work station to the console to effect the adjustment.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 1998Date of Patent: November 30, 1999Assignee: Perretta Graphics CorporationInventors: Dominick J. Patent number: 5851173Abstract: A soft plastic Brachy tube cap has a tubular body with one closed and one open end. The body's internal bore is sized so that the end of a Brachy tube fits snugly within the body when inserted through the open end. A pair of spaced locking rings integral with the body are adapted to fit about the Brachy tube. If the cap receives pressure towards removal, the two rings deform, through the pressure on the connecting straps, which results in reducing the bore radius and causes them to bend tighter on the Brachy tube. This prevents displacement of the caps.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1997Date of Patent: December 22, 1998Assignee: Marlene H. DuganInventor: Harold Dugan

Patent number: 5824327Abstract: A skin whitening cosmetic composition of kojic dipalmitate. When used in an anhydrous cream, the kojic dipalmitate is present in parts by weight from 0.01 to 25%, more particularly 0.2 to 8.0% and most preferably 0.4 to 4.0%. When forming an anhydrous serum, one uses the same kojic dipalmitate concentration but of a much lower viscosity. To form an anhydrous ointment, the same concentrations are used with 2-8% wax from each of the following wax groups: microcrystalline wax; animal waxes such as beeswax; vegetable waxes such as rice wax; and, hydrocarbon waxes such as paraffin. The same kojic dipalmitate concentration may be used with anhydrous alcohol to form a fine anhydrous spray.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 1998Date of Patent: October 20, 1998Inventors: Jerry Whittemore, Robert Neis

Patent number: 5747739Abstract: An electrical outlet box used in tractor trailer combinations includes a plate having an opening therethrough to provide access to an electrical outlet. A cover is pivotally mounted to a shaft spaced from and mounted parallel to the plate. A first spring is mounted about the shaft. A second spring which can also be mounted on the shaft or permanently or removably secured against the plate has a section which is spaced from but which bears across the exterior surface of the cover when a plug is inserted within the outlet. The first spring acts to bias the interior surface of the cover against the plate to enclose the opening when the outlet is not in use while the second spring acts to bias the interior surface against the plug's cable so as to prevent the plug from falling out of the outlet when the outlet is in use.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1995Date of Patent: May 5, 1998Inventor: Larry Moeller
