  • Patent number: 6714738
Abstract: A lens barrel is associated with a frame body of a camera for advancing and retracting movements along an optical axis direction. A film accommodating chamber is located on the side outward from the lens barrel with respect to a direction normal to the optical axis direction. A motor is secured to the frame body, mechanical power of the motor being transmitted to the lens barrel via a gear train to move the lens barrel along the optical axis direction. The motor is located within a space defined by the lens barrel and the film accommodating chamber, such that an output shaft extends in a plane normal to the optical axis. The frame body has a path for insertion of a motor securing tool.

  • Patent number: 6654027
Abstract: A method and system for assisting a user in identifying an element of an object in various displayed views in a drawing of the object. A method is employed that will allow automatic highlighting of a selected edge of an object in each view, as well as separately highlighting the edges of faces of an object adjoining the selected edge. The process facilitates the user's comprehension of the three dimensional geometry of the object. The invention is particularly suited to computer-aided design, computer aided manufacturing, and computer aided engineering.

  • Patent number: 6636698
Abstract: A lens barrel is provided with a fixed cylinder, a movable cylinder supported in the fixed cylinder, and a helicoid mechanism for moving the movable cylinder along the optical axis direction through engagement of an internal helicoid of the fixed cylinder and an external helicoid of the movable cylinder. The helicoid mechanism is provided with an unengaged region, in which the internal helicoid and the external helicoid are in an unengaged state, within a rotation region between a collapsed state of the movable cylinder and a wide end of the movable cylinder. An opening or closing operation of a lens barrier is performed by the rotation of the movable cylinder in the unengaged region of the helicoid mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6618502
Abstract: In a first signal suppressing process, in cases where a signal level of a certain color signal among color signals obtained from an image sensing operation is higher than a predetermined signal level, the certain color signal is suppressed. An image sensing operation with a comparatively large exposure quantity and an image sensing operation with a comparatively small exposure quantity are performed alternately. It is detected that suppression of a certain color signal is performed in the first signal suppressing process when the image sensing operation with a comparatively large exposure quantity is performed. A calculation is made to find composition ratios of the color signals, which are obtained from the image sensing operation with a comparatively small exposure quantity. A second signal suppressing process is performed for suppressing at least one color signal other than the certain color signal such that the composition ratios become identical with the calculated composition ratios.

  • Patent number: 6526909
Abstract: A device for increasing the incident energy of an ion for coating a disc in an ion beam deposition process. The ion beam deposition process is performed in a chamber with the disc to be coated disposed therein. An ion source, having a voltage level, is introduced into the chamber for generating an ion beam for depositing ions on the disc. A bias contact is coupled to the disc and a power supply is coupled to the bias contact. The power supply applies a voltage level to the bias contact that is less than the voltage level of the ion source thereby creating a negative bias voltage between the disc and the ion source. This negative bias voltage causes the incident energy of the ion to increase. As a result, the optimal incident energy can be achieved using a lower original energy.
