Abstract: A method for processing a fatty acid-acylated protein, especially N-palmitoyl Lys.sup.B29 human insulin, to reduce the incidence of gelation by conducting such processing in the presence of a citrate buffering agent as the primary buffer which method allows such processing to be conducted at higher protein concentrations and with less temperature control than would otherwise be possible in the absence of the citrate buffer.

Abstract: Compounds having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, or an alkyl from about 1 to about 3 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 is hydrogen, or an alkyl from about 1 to about 18 carbon atoms; R.sub.3 is keto, or hydroxyl; and R.sub.4 is hydrogen, an alkyl from about 1 to about 4 carbon atoms, hydroxyl, or amino are synthesized and administered to animals as anabolic agents.
Abstract: A process for recovering phosphate values from silica-containing phosphate ores is provided. The ore has a particle size in the range of about 0.6 to 1.2 mm and is subjected to selective flotation in the presence of a cationic flotation reagent comprising a di(hydrophobic group) quaternary ammonium salt, wherein each of the hydrophobic groups contain 6 or more carbon atoms and at least one of the groups contains from about 10-20 carbon atoms, in combination with a hydrocarbon oil and a phosphate depressing agent.
Abstract: Hydrogen fluoride is produced by the electrodialysis of an alkali metal fluoride salt solution or an ammonium fluoride solution in an electrodialysis cell having an anode compartment and a cathode compartment spaced from one another by an inner electrodialysis compartment bounded by spaced cation exchange membranes.
