Abstract: A dispenser for solid dosage form pharmaceutical preparations for self-administration on a daily basis related to the menstrual cycle is made up of a blister pack in a carrying case. The case has a septagonal post and the blister pack a cooperating septagonal opening. The dose form to be taken on the first day is indicated and is aligned with the day taken. The remaining dose forms are taken sequentially. Once inserted on the starting day, the blister pack is not moved. A triphasic, 21-day regimen for oral contraceptives is described which may be followed by seven days of iron tablets.
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for evacuating and compacting filled aerosol cans. The cans are manually placed into a feed chute and sensing means are provided to confirm proper can orientation and to permit gravity feed of the can into a crushing mechanism. A hydraulic ram pushes the can against a stator plate. A punch reciprocates through an opening in the stator plate puncturing the bottom of the can so that the contents discharge into a receiver where the liquid contents are separated from the propellent and recovered. An air logic means controls the sequencing of the operative steps. The apparatus can be used in an explosive area.
Abstract: The body member and cover member of a pressure cooker are adapted to be held together by means of inter-engageable pairs of lugs arranged on each member. One or more selected pairs of lugs are constructed so that a shoulder on a first lug or lugs can interact with either of two linearly arranged projections carried by a second lug or lugs. The interaction of the selected pair of lugs produces two locking positions of the body and cover. The pressure cooker preferably incorporates a further safety mechanism, such as a gasket off-set device which prevents pressurization of the vessel if there is only partial overlap of the body and cover lugs.
Abstract: The inclusion of 7.5 to 25 percent by weight of ethyl alcohol (190.degree.-200.degree. proof) in lecithin-vegetable oil and hydrocarbon propellent compositions lowers the viscosity, provides a uniform one phase system, and renders high concentrations of lecithin compositions suitable for dispensing from aerosol containers in a clear, non-foamy form. Such compositions which contain relatively higher concentrations of lecithin may be used by the consumer in proportionally lesser amounts to achieve the same anti-stick properties or basting properties associated with the presently available products containing lower lecithin concentrations.
