  • Patent number: 5490746
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a pipe cylindrical thread cutting aid that has an inner cylindrical wall, which extends throughout its length; a pair of outer cylindrical walls between which lies a shoulder which is substantially perpendicular to these outer walls, which are substantially parallel to one another, and leading and trailing surfaces. The thread cutting aid of this invention allows near perfect alignment of the thread cutter with the work piece, permits starting and finishing thread cutting using one hand and permits the thread repair and cutting in close quarters ordinarily not reachable and attainable using prior art thread cutting tools. The thread cutting aid of this invention is particularly well suited for use in the shop where the pipe can be stabilized, e.g., in a vice or equivalent device, and to thread pipe softer than stainless steel or other equivalent steel pipe work piece which are resistant to cutting which occurs during threading, e.g., stainless steel pipe.

  • Patent number: 5478977
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a grease flow sensor switch assembly device for monitoring and determining movement of grease charges, e.g. a Number One (1) and Number Two (2) type grease. The device involves a dry reed switch, a magnet and a spring the magnet, being moved into position by grease flow, puts out a magnetic field that brings the dry reed switch together, completing an electrical circuit. This circuit is then connected to a fault circuit which shuts off the machine in the event the desired grease charge was not received. An alarm source, viz., a light, sound or light/sound combination alarm indicating that the grease charge (desired amount of grease) was not distributed to that bearing or slide or whatever mechanism is being greased can also be present. The grease volume ban be monitored by adjustments to the dry reed switch.

  • Patent number: 4832942
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a touch-effective disinfectant tape suitable for mounting on a substrate facility to enable a user to disinfect his/her hand(s) during use of such facility. This tape can be enclosed in a liquid-proof covering, e.g., shrink sealed package, aluminum or other metal foil, etc., and has an upper perforate tape cover layer, a central liquid disinfectant-containing foam layer, a double adhesive-backed lower layer and a bottom release liner. For application to the substrate, the release liner is removed and the bottom adhesive layer is applied to the door knob, door plate, urinal handle, commode handle, or other surface. When such surface is touched by the hands of the person(s) using such facility, the user's hand(s) are disinfected/sterilized without any conscious effort on the user's part to accomplish such.

  • Patent number: 4779294
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a steel tubular protective structure capable of deflecting and/or resisting impact from falling objects and retaining same and comprising a lower assembly and an upper assembly. The lower assembly is comprised of at least four steel tubular legs positioned between flange-shaped metal feet and steel sleeves and joined by said sleeves to the upper assembly. The upper assembly contains a plurality of substantially parallel tubular steel main structural members defining the length of the tubular protective structure and the external diameter of the downward facing portions of which define the internal diameter of the upper portion of said sleeves. A plurality of tubular steel end cross members join the main structural members near the locations of adjacent pairs of the legs. The upper assembly also includes a plurality of tubular steel intermediate cross members substantially parallel with end members and joined to the main structural members on the inward aspect thereof.

  • Patent number: 4535613
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a key-activated, handle-operated three way (position) locking mechanism for removable automobile, or other vehicle, roof panels of the type wherein the handle customarily pivots from locked to open (unlocked) positions to permit removal of the roof "T-top" panels. The "T-top" lock-handle device of this invention comprises a latch stud adapter mechanism and locking cam mechanism each located substantially within a handle-housing and operative to permit locking and unlocking over a three position arc for the lock and a two position arc for the handle-housing and wherein unlocking is effected by meshing of notched surfaces on said adapter and locking cam whereby the locking cam drives the adapter upon rotation of the handle to unlock the "T-top" permitting its removal from the automobile roof.

  • Patent number: 4440617
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a non-bleeding gas electrode for operation under the rigors of high current density and to the active layer thereof. This active layer is comprised of 60 to 90 weight percent high surface area, electroconductive carbon (with or without catalyst thereon), 10 to 40 weight percent particulate polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and has pores sufficiently large to relieve internal hydrodynamic pressures thus preventing liquid being forced through the electrode wetproofing layer to the air side thereof. In addition such electrodes include a PTFE-containing wetproofing or backing layer secured on one side to said active layer and on the other side to a current distributor.
