Patent number: 5048276Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a mower blade-weed cutting flail assembly wherein the mower blade and the flail cutting line (cord) always rotate in opposite directions with the cutting line always rotating faster than the mower blade so that the two never meet, viz., the mower blade cannot cut the line and the line cannot damage the blade. Attached to the upper interior portion of the mower deck adjacent one end portion thereof is the upper flange portion of the return spring and support whose bottom end supports the bottom portion of the main flail housing at a position near the flail main housing stub shaft extension arm. This secondary return spring and support supports the flail main housing (for the cord trimming unit), keeps the driven disc of the line cutter away from the mower disc drive unless and until the operating handle is engaged.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 1990Date of Patent: September 17, 1991Inventor: Gary D. Patent number: 4842285Abstract: An anti-bounce-out dart having a combination of features which reduce significantly the instances of a dart failing to stick in the dart board, particularly due to striking a wire on the dart board. This combination of features for the anti-bounce-out dart of this invention provides it with a unique dual action of rotating the needle off the dart wire and forcing it into the dart board holding surface. This dual action is attributable to a dart board striking needle having an off-center point portion located in the forward portion of the needle; a grooved portion of the needle located in the rearward portion thereof; a dog point screw, pin, bolt, or equivalent member, whose lower portion seats in said needle grooved portion and a cavity in the forward portion of the dart body which receives the rearward portion of the needle and permits it to rotate.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 1987Date of Patent: June 27, 1989Inventor: Charles W. Patent number: 4828280Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a one-wheel manually powered, two-blade ice bike vehicle capable of both pedal powered and gliding movement over ice wherein selection of the mode of movement is conveniently and safely located at the rider's fingertips in the vicinity of the handlebars with a studded drive wheel tire being raised and lowered readily at the driver's fingertip selection and control by a forked axle mount raising and lowering assembly with spring/cable/handle control assembly. The ice bike moves over the ice via front and rear smoothly contoured, concave bottom blade surfaces with the single studded tire drive wheel being lowered for forward movement. The forward movement is by a centrally located pedal driven sprocket-chain arrangement. The coaster/brake arrangement enables the driver to selectively disengage the studded wheel from the ice and coast the ice bike while the bike is travelling at fairly high speeds, e.g.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1988Date of Patent: May 9, 1989Inventor: James L.
