Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for modulating a laser beam with an information signal. The method includes the steps of modulating a plurality of coherent, optical signals with a respective information signal of the plurality of information signals and directing the modulated optical signals onto a photodiode. The method further includes the steps of detecting the collected signals in the photodiode and refractively synchronizing the laser beam with clock reference signals which allow easy separation of the modulated signal blocks at the receiving end of the fiber optic.
Abstract: An improved automatic firearm. The firearm comprises a body assembly including a body member, a barrel mounted in said body member, a trigger assembly mounted to said body member proximate to the front end of the barrel, and a magazine guide in the body member spaced apart from and behind the trigger assembly. In addition, the body member suitably comprises a one-piece body cut to length.
Abstract: A distress light and signal system including a light adapted to be anchored in the ground in proximity to a road passing by a house. The light includes a switch for selectively actuating the light in an emergency from within the house and is powered by a solar collector and a rechargeable battery. Information is retained at a location remote from the house including directions for use by a person responding to the emergency. The system includes immediate retrieval of the information upon notification of the existence of an emergency at the house. With these features, a person responding to an emergency may reach the house rapidly by visually locating the light upon reaching the vicinity of the house.
Abstract: A swimming instruction device in the form of a kickboard having a top surface and a bottom surface. The kickboard is buoyant to float on water with at least a portion of the bottom surface in contact with the water and the top surface facing upwardly and away from the water. Additionally, the kickboard includes at least one guide member adapted to receive a swimming instruction card.
