  • Patent number: 6714255
Abstract: A video apparatus has a video source with a luminance output carrying a first luminance signal and a chrominance output carrying a chrominance signal, an OSD circuit generating OSD signals and a fast-blanking signal, and a connector for delivering video signals. A converter outputs a second luminance signal based on the OSD signals and a first switch is controlled by the fast-blanking signal selectively connects the converter or the luminance output to the connector and a second is switch is controlled by the fast-blanking signal selectively connects the chrominance output or a circuit generating a constant chrominance signal to the connector.

  • Patent number: 6667588
Abstract: An image display is operable with video signals having a plurality of scanning frequencies and comprises a cathode ray tube for the display of ones of the video signals. A deflection coil is mounted on the cathode ray tube and a horizontal deflection amplifier is coupled to the deflection coil and generates a deflection current therein. A plurality of retrace capacitors are controllably coupled to the horizontal deflection amplifier in response to a selected scanning frequency to maintain a substantially constant active picture display area with the ones of the video signals having the plurality of scanning frequencies.

  • Patent number: 6574769
Abstract: A wireless telephone system comprising a base unit coupleable to one or more external telephone lines and having a base transceiver, and at least one wireless handset. The wireless handset has a handset transceiver for establishing a digital link with the base unit via the base transceiver over a wireless channel, wherein the handset and base unit communicate via the digital link by fixed-size audio packets comprising a plurality of audio data samples and a plurality of error correction bits. Qualities of the digital link are monitored to determine whether a change in error rate occurs. In response to the determination, a packet structure of subsequent audio packets is changed from a first packet structure to a second packet structure to change the relative number of bits devoted to audio data samples and to error correction bits.

  • Patent number: 6434365
Abstract: A wireless telephone system having a plurality of wireless, battery-powered handsets and a base unit, the base unit having a base transceiver. Each handset has a handset transceiver for establishing a wireless link over a shared channel with the base unit via the base transceiver, wherein the base transceiver transmits to a given handset transceiver a forward data message, which contains forward power level information identifying a forward power level at which the forward data message was transmitted by the base transceiver. The receiver receives and locks onto the forward data message. The transmitter transmits to the base transceiver a return data message at a return power level determined in accordance with the forward power level information.
