Abstract: A live fire burn room and an insulating system for a live fire burn room are disclosed. The burn room includes a structural framework. The insulating system includes a face panel, at least one face panel mounting bracket for attaching the face panel to the structural framework of the burn room, and an insulating layer disposed between the face panel and the structural framework of the burn room.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting, monitoring, measuring and recording the motion of a patient's spine is disclosed. The apparatus includes a vertical member attached to a belt that fits around the patient's waist. A first sensor for detecting and monitoring flexion and extension of the patient's spine in the midsagittal plane is mounted to the lower end of the vertical member. A second sensor for detecting and monitoring lateral bending and movement of the patient's spine in the frontal plane is mounted to the upper end of the vertical member.

Abstract: An apparatus for grinding the teeth of horses is disclosed. The apparatus includes a tool body. A drive shaft is disposed inside of the tool body. A drive mechanism is connected to one end of the drive shaft. A grinding member is connected to the other end of the drive shaft. The grinding member can pivot through a range of angles relative to the drive shaft.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for recording an impact location between a golf ball and a golf club is disclosed. The apparatus includes a recording member having a recording surface. The recording surface is disposed on one side of the recording member for recording the impact location between the golf ball and the golf club.
Abstract: A firefighter training building having a system of movable and removable partition walls for changing the interior floor plan layout of the building is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of tracks disposed above the movable walls and a plurality of movable and removable wall panels slidably mounted on the tracks.
Abstract: An apparatus for storing urns and/or cremated remains is disclosed. A container which has or forms a vault with an open top. A cover closes the open top, and one or more vault fasteners are provided so the container can be attached to a second container. The vault is configured to hold a plurality of urns side-by-side, and end-to-end. The urns are stored along each of a plurality of sidewalls, or along the periphery, or within the vault. The vault cover is attached with a keyed fastener. The key is used to remove the fastener and to lift the cover from the vault. At least one urn spacer is inside the chamber(s) spaces and locates the urns. The urn spacer may be stamped, and the stamped portion used for a memorial plaque. The container is cylindrical or polygonal (three, four, five, six and eight sidewalls). The vault is cast, molded, and/or in one piece. A memorial plaque impression may be cast on the vault.
Abstract: A spark gap assembly for a welding power supply includes at least one pair of spark gap points and a housing base including at least one base groove for axially aligning the spark gap points. Point stops are disposed to retain some of the spark gap points in the spark gap assembly. Insulating walls and insulating channels are disposed to reduce the possibility of shorts occurring between various spark gap assembly components or between spark gap assembly components and other power supply components.
Abstract: A sliding knife and needle assembly for creating a percutaneous incision or portal in a living body comprises an elongate hollow rectangular handle having a closed first end, an open second end and a slot extending along one side, with the handle defining a first central longitudinal axis. A knife blade and introducer assembly is slidably housed inside the handle for sliding along the axis. The knife blade is substantially flat and rigidly attached to one end of the introducer. The introducer has a longitudinal bore which extends along a second axis parallel to the first axis. A locking button is attached to the introducer and extends through the slot in the handle. A needle is affixed to the first end of the handle and extends through the second axis and beyond the second end of the handle. The needle extends through the bore in the introducer.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for supply welding, plasma cutting, and/or induction heating power having a ground fault interrupt (GFI) protection circuit is disclosed. The primary winding of a monitoring transformer in the GFI protection circuit is connected between the high frequency floating output of the power supply and ground. One end of the secondary of the monitoring transformer is connected to a voltage source. The other end of the secondary is connected to an impedance. The other end of the impedance is connected back to the voltage source to form a voltage divider across the voltage source. Changes in the impedance between the floating output of the power supply and ground are sensed by the GFI protection circuit and converted into a voltage. This voltage is filtered, rectified, and calibrated into a dc sense signal. The sense signal is compared to a threshold signal. In the event the sense signal exceeds the threshold signal, an interrupt signal is sent to the power supply and the power supply shuts down.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing welding/plasma power is disclosed. The welding/plasma power source includes an input stage, an output stage, and an energy storage device such as a capacitor. The input stage is configured to receive an ac input signal and to rectify the ac input signal to provide a rectified intermediate signal. The input stage is further configured to provide a dc voltage signal across a dc bus. The output stage is disposed to receive the dc voltage signal and is configured to provide an available output power signal suitable for welding, plasma cutting and induction heating applications. The energy storage device is connected to provide sufficient stored energy to the dc bus to allow the welding/plasma power source to run off of a generator.
