  • Patent number: 7980494
Abstract: The present invention provides an integral system for recycling post consumer motor-oil plastic containers. Oils and especially motor-oil, physically attaches to its HDPE (high density polyethylene) containers demanding a unique recycling process. As described by this patent, oil-contaminated plastic containers are thermally drained and mechanically freed from their labels and aluminum sealing rings. Unlabeled containers are further shredded through oil-free flake-cutting process, in which, plastic melting is minimized, thus preventing oil to be trapped inside the plastic structure. A hot water bath of sulfonic acid and/or detergents, containing the shredded flakes, is subjected to a very high turbulence in the absence of air (water sealed), which induces liquid cavitation.

  • Patent number: 7822627
Abstract: An echocardiogram report generation method and system are disclosed for creating a complete medical report describing an echocardiogram without dictation, transcription or typing. The report is tailored to describe an individual patient and generated in complete grammatically complex sentences in response to the user's input with a text report that is complete and understandable for a primary care physician. The method and system provides the user the parallel options of an anatomical structure approach and a disease-specific approach in order to amplify the description of the echocardiogram in specific areas and give a more meaningful report. The echo report generated by the method and system creates a table of measurements and calculations in compact form, omitting any data fields not used.

  • Patent number: 7785042
Abstract: A double-wall protection levee floodwall has a pair of piles placed into soil at the bank at the edge of a water body or formed by a levee. The piles of the pair are oriented parallel to each other, are spaced apart transversely, and are rigidly connected together by a connector so that when the force of rising water or a water-borne object is applied to a face of one of the piles, a force couple develops that places one of the piles in tension and the other pile of the pair in compression. The distance between the force-coupled piles and the depth of the piles in the soil provide the ability to withstand predetermined transverse forces while conserving materials and space. Fill material, riprap, earthen support, and erosion control matting can improve the function of the double-wall floodwall. Multiple pairs of piles can be longitudinally placed to form a continuous floodwall.

  • Patent number: 7461479
Abstract: A plant protection system which is economical, and quickly installed and removed and which can be used on row crops such as strawberries to protect against frost, freezing, and insects. The system includes a series of frames placed along a crop row wherein each frame has at least one twine engaging loop on the upper portion of the frame. Twine is tensioned along the upper sides of the frames by drawing the twine into an open end of the loop, looping the twine completely around the loop and proceeding to the next frame with the twine held in tension at the loop. A protective cover is draped over the frames and tensioned twine and anchored in the crop furrows. The tension of the twine between the frames prevents the cover from sagging and touching the crops.
