  • Patent number: 5637876
Abstract: A method for determining a level of exposure to radiation utilizes a radiation dosimeter comprising a substrate provided with a radiation sensitive layer or patch having an optical density which varies in accordance with the degree of radiation exposure. In addition, the substrate is provided with optically readable coding which identifies encoded mathematical parameters for enabling an automated calculation of dosage from a detected post-exposure optical density of the radiation sensitive material. The method comprises the step of optically measuring the optical density of the layer of radiation sensitive material prior to exposure thereof to radiation. In addition, the coding on the dosimeter substrate is scanned to automatically determine the encoded mathematical parameters. The method further comprises the steps of exposing the radiation sensitive layer to radiation and optically measuring a post-exposure optical density of the layer of radiation sensitive material.

  • Patent number: 5196495
Abstract: A hair spray fixative resin comprises a vinyl acetate/alkyl maleate half ester/N-substituted acrylamide terpolymer in a molar ratio of about 1.0 to 0.6-0.8 to 0.08-0.12, which is preferably produced by a suspension or solution polymerization process. Utilizing N-substituted acrylamides in place of isoborneol methacrylates in the terpolymer provides superior holding power over conventional hair fixative resins, at lower cost.

  • Patent number: 5160528
Abstract: An emulsifiable concentrate comprising an agriculturally active chemical, a surfactant, an organic diluent and a solvent having a component capable of solubilizing the agriculturally active chemical and, in conjunction with the surfactant, being effective to disperse the agriculturally active chemical. The inventive concentrate allows for high concentrations of the active ingredient, exhibits excellent stability and produces highly stable compositions upon dilution with water.

  • Patent number: 5156666
Abstract: An emulsifiable concentrate comprising an agriculturally active chemical, a surfactant, and a solvent selected from the group consisting of a first component capable of solubilizing the agriculturally active chemical, a second component capable, in conjnction with the surfactant, to disperse the agriculturally active chemical, and combinations thereof, said first and second being biodegradeable. The inventive concentrate allows for high concentrations of the active ingredient, exhibits excellent stability and produces highly stable compositions upon dilution with water.
