  • Patent number: 5989099
Abstract: A hand operated tactile device including a tactile body positionable in a hand of a user. The tactile body includes at least one articulated member movable relative to the remainder of the body in a manual operation phase with the user manipulating the articulated member relative to the remainder of the body and in an automatic operation phase with the articulated member being manipulated relative to the remainder of the body and the hand of the user. A control system is carried by the body. The control system receives a first signal from the articulated member when the articulated member is manually manipulated by the user and control system generates a second signal controlling movement of the articulated member to automatically move the articulated member relative to the remainder of the body and the hand of the user.

  • Patent number: 5893466
Abstract: During processing, such as wave soldering, it is necessary to support a printed circuit board (PCB) above a pallet or carrier without sagging. A support rod has hooks which fit through holes in the PCB and engage the margins of the holes. Ends of the rod are provided with second hooks which engage the pallet or carrier to support the rod above the pallet and thereby support the PCB. Preferably the rod is multi-sectional and spring biased so that the hooks may be conveniently installed in the holes.

  • Patent number: 5868281
Abstract: A two-piece cap for a water bottle comprises a main cap which has an annular top disk formed with a depending central well having three levels, each of a slightly smaller diameter. The main cap skirt which depends from the periphery of the top disk has an upper cylindrical portion formed with a truncated internal screw thread which merges into a horizontal bead extending about 180.degree. around the interior of the cap and terminates in a reverse thread portion which extends upward to merge with the leading edge of the truncated screw thread. A first vertical score line extends from the bottom edge of lower skirt portion to the upper edge of the slanted portion. A second vertical score line, spaced a short distance from the first vertical score line, extends from the bottom edge of the lower skirt portion to the top disk. A plug having a closed bottom and a smooth exterior fits into the bottom of the well.

  • Patent number: 5833191
Abstract: A holder for various different objects is described, which holder cooperates with a gripping device of the vise-grip type in which the position at which a pair of jaws lock relative to one another is adjustable. The holder includes a simple orientation change mechanism configured to enable a user to change the orientation of a special connector designed to hold differing objects. The connector includes a pair of jaws having concave facing gripping surfaces. A resistance varying structure is included to enable the user to vary the resistance to orientation change that might be expected from the different weight of objects. Thus, the holder is quite versatile with respect to the type of object that can be held by the same, which versatility is added to the versatility of the vise-grip type pliers with which it is designed to be used.

  • Patent number: 5759143
Abstract: A fitment attachment apparatus installed at a station along a filler line is substantially completely mounted on a single casting attached to the bed of the machine. As an open upper end, apertured panel carton is conveyed to the station, a rotary anvil having spuds on which fitments are applied lowers a fitment inside the carton. The anvil is moved axially so that the spout end of the fitment extends out through the aperture in the carton panel and a peripheral flange on the opposite end of the fitment engages the inside of the aperture panel. The anvil shaft carries a driven sprocket on one end which is connected by a side-flex chain to a drive sprocket which turns in timed relation to the intermittent carton conveyor chain. The sleeve on which the anvil is mounted is indexed into precise angular position by an apertured collar fixed to the anvil sleeve mating with a stationary pen. Hence the fitment is accurately located in line with the carton despite flexing of the drive chain.
