  • Patent number: 6601592
Abstract: This is a method of cassette-to-cassette batch demounting process that includes providing an apparatus having two cassettes for holding and separating semiconductor substrates. A first cassette is placed on top of a second cassette, using the first cassette as the top cassette that holds the semiconductor substrate and the support substrate, and the second cassette at the bottom as a bottom cassette that receives the semiconductor substrate after demounting process. The semiconductor substrate is loaded with its support substrate into a slot in the top cassette. The top cassette will let only the semiconductor substrate to descend to the bottom cassette while blocking the support substrate from exiting the top cassette. The two cassettes are then soaked in a hot solvent that can dissolve or melt an adhesive that adheres the semiconductor substrate to the support substrate in order to weaken the cohesive force between the two substrates.

  • Patent number: 6577377
Abstract: A position detection device for an illumination case is disclosed. It includes an illumination filmstrip, a grating plate, a transparent back plate, two step motors for driving the grating plate to move up and down, two sensors and a set of sensing elements, and a one-chip microcomputer. The illumination filmstrip overlays the transparent back plate and is fixed against it. The grating plate spreads out and nestles up to the illumination filmstrip by means of one or more stretch springs, and it links with the two step motors. The two sensors are fixed on the left side and the right side of the transparent back plate, respectively. The sensing elements are fitted on the grating plate corresponding to the sensors to set the starting point of the circular up-and-down movement of the grating plate. The current fixed position of the sensing element on the grating plate is taken as the benchmark, and the sensors detect a reference signal.

  • Patent number: 6569325
Abstract: The present invention is a separation-detection device, which comprises high-voltage power supply, capillary chromatographic column and detection equipment. In addition, the present invention employs high-pressure pump. The device can apply pressure forward, backward or bi-directionally on the capillary column and rinse the column forward or backward with the high-pressure pump. Thus not only avoid bubble formation and current breakdown in column but also guarantee the high efficiency. It can run in several modes by changing different chromatographic columns.

  • Patent number: 6537440
Abstract: A method for extracting copper from a mineral feed containing copper sulphide mineral 1, which involves crushing and blending the feed 2, 6, 10 followed by leaching of the feed in an autoclave 20. The conditions in the autoclave are controlled so that the presence of oxygen at superatmospheric oxygen pressure maintains the ratio of ferrous to ferric ions at a level so as to facilitate the leaching of copper from the feed. The leaching is carried out in the presence of acid which may be itself generated by oxidising conditions in the autoclave. Further leaching is carried out in a series of tanks 22, 24, 26 and 28 after which the solids are separated from solution in a series of steps including treatment in a hydroclassifier 30, a clarifier 32 and a polishing filter 38. Copper is extracted from the resultant leachant at a copper extraction station 44 with a final copper product 54 being retrieved in electrowin cells 52.

  • Patent number: 6533741
Abstract: An articulated upper extremity splint for immobilizing and supporting an injured upper extremity. The splint includes a frame. The frame includes a proximal support section and a distal support section. Interconnecting the confronting ends of the proximal support section and the distal support section is a connector. The connector provides multi-directional movement for the proximal support section and the distal support section, respectively. The proximal support section and the distal support section include respective extensible support rods. The support rods are telescopically received by respective tubes of the proximal support section and the distal support section. The rods are releasably secured to the associate tubes for adjusting, respectively, the length of the proximal support section and the distal support section.
