  • Patent number: 6770497
Abstract: The present invention relates to a field emitter array used in various devices including a nanotube-based display and a microwave-amplifying device. In prior art, an electron accelerated by an electric field collides, for example, with a phosphor on the screen. Light is emitted as a positive ion drops out of the phosphor. Destruction or deformation of the emitter's structure can occur if the positive ion becomes accelerated and collides with the emitter, which results in instability or interruption of the emitter's operation. According to the present invention, coating a carbon nanotube with a very thin semiconductor or insulating material with a high degree of hardness can protect the carbon nanotube from the external particles (particularly, positive ions). The thin layer also provides for easy electron emission under low voltage, thereby greatly improving the uniformity and stability of electron emission.

  • Patent number: 6763609
Abstract: Injection molded welted construction footwear according to the present invention includes a perforated midsole welted to an upper. The perforated midsole permits molten outer sole material to flow through the midsole during the molding process and fill the space between the insole and the midsole and thus sandwich the midsole. This technique forms outer soles to be durably and flexibly attached to the upper without use of traditional adhesives.

  • Patent number: 6758236
Abstract: The present invention is a self-acting valve, and it may specifically be used for air mattresses. This self-acting valve consists of a housing, a membrane and a base. After a quick inflation, the elastic airtight membrane positioned within the housing reverts to its original shape and instantly shuts off the outlets, which prevents air from leaking out. This valve is able to operate automatically to form a perfect airtight seal. The structure of this valve is simple, reliable, and practical, which makes it a new type of self-acting valve for an air mattress.

  • Patent number: 6752160
Abstract: The embodiment of this invention is an apparatus that provides for a cassette-to-cassette batch demounting process wherein the apparatus has two cassettes for holding and separating semiconductor substrates. A first cassette is placed on top of a second cassette, using the first cassette as the top cassette that holds the semiconductor substrate and the support substrate, and the second cassette at the bottom as a bottom cassette that receives the semiconductor substrate after demounting process. The semiconductor substrate is loaded with its support substrate into a slot in the top cassette. The top cassette will let only the semiconductor substrate to descend to the bottom cassette while blocking the support substrate from exiting the top cassette. The two cassettes are then soaked in a hot solvent that can dissolve or melt an adhesive that adheres the semiconductor substrate to the support substrate in order to weaken the cohesive force between the two substrates.

  • Patent number: 6737603
Abstract: This invention deals with a spot electrical welding machine which is technically applied to the electronics industry and micro-electronic industry. A spot electrical welder optimally directly welds enameled wires, fine wires or relevant thin sheets of metal, and metal tapes with &PHgr; 0.02 mm-&PHgr; 0.80 mm. This spot electrical welder comprises of an electrode, a main processor which functions as a power supply control, and a weld head which is composed of an electrode clamp and an adjusting device of electrode force. Due to the special structure of the electrode's tip which has a certain resistance Ohm contact, the main processor circuits provide for a proper work current while wedding enameled wires and further eliminates the need for insulation by hand. In addition, the spot electrical welder makes weld points even and steady, allows for simple and convenient operation and lowers welding time.

  • Patent number: 6715432
Abstract: According to a burner of the present invention, a stable combustion is obtained in a wide range from a high-load operation condition to a low-load operation condition even in the case of low quality solid fuel such as brown coal. The amount of air supplied from additional air holes or additional air nozzles 12 can be adjusted depending on the combustion load of furnace 41. At a low load, the amount of air supplied from additional air holes or additional air nozzles 12 is increased, whereby the oxygen concentration in a recirculation zones 19 formed downstream of the outside of a fuel nozzle 11 exit, permits a stable combustion. At a high load, the amount of air supplied from additional air holes or additional air nozzles 12 is reduced, whereby a flame is formed in a position far from the fuel nozzle 11. This suppresses thermal radiation onto a solid fuel burner 42 structure and a furnace 41 wall.

  • Patent number: 6709133
Abstract: An anti-slip fluorescent electronic energy-saving lamp comprises a fluorescent tube or bulb and a lamp cabinet within which the electronic parts are installed. The outer shell of the lamp cabinet is of a surface of revolution, on which an anti-slip ring is mounted. The anti-slip ring is made of anti-slip materials and the ring sectional plane of the anti-slip ring is in parallel with the circular sectional plane of the outer shell of the lamp cabinet. Thanks to the anti-slip ring mounted outside the outer shell of the lamp cabinet, the fluorescent electronic energy-saving lamp of the present invention is easy to grasp and will not be easily to fall to the ground and break into pieces in installation and usage. Since the anti-slip ring is made of rubber or plastic, it can be made into various colors, which is helpful for identification and decoration.
