Abstract: This invention relates to polymers, especially emulsion polymers, and their use for the thickening of a variety of aqueous systems, to methods of thickening utilizing the polymers, to enhancement of such thickening by the addition of surfactants, solvents or non-solvents, and to other aspects including coating compositions and other aqueous systems thickened with the polymers. This invention also relates to new complex hydrophobe-containing oligomers and their use in producing the polymers of this invention.

Abstract: Crystalline ferroborosilicate compositions are prepared from a silica containing mixture by digesting a reaction mixture comprising a tetraalkylammonium compound, a sodium hydroxide, a boron compound, an oxide of silicon, an iron ion source, an optional chelating agent and water to provide the crystalline ferroborosilicate which is then palladium ion-exchanged. This composition may be used alone or physically mixed with a methanol catalyst. Conversion of synthesis gas, dimethylether, ethylene and methanol to low molecular hydrocarbons employing these new ferroborosilicates as catalysts is also disclosed.

Abstract: Polyamides suitable as hot-melt adhesives and containing groups derived from a polymeric fatty acid containing 70-90% by weight of dimer acid and from a triamine of the structure ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are bivalent hydrocarbon radicals. Optionally the polyamide also contains groups derived from a C.sub.2-20 diamine, a dicarboxylic acid containing 6-12 carbon atoms, a monocarboxylic acid or a C.sub.5-12 lactam.
