Abstract: Techniques to improve data communications for a wireless system are described. An apparatus may include an asymmetric data channel manager to perform asymmetric link adaptation for multiple wireless data channels based on a class of data flow for each data channel. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract: A method and article for reducing power consumption for isochronous data transfers are described. The method may include receiving packets of data having multimedia information with empty spaces. The packets of data may be stored in a first buffer having a first buffer size allocated for a universal serial bus processing stack. The empty spaces may be removed from the packets of data and the packets of data having the empty spaces removed may be copied to a second buffer having a second buffer size allocated for a media information processing stack. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract: A system and method for thermal management of a memory device is described. In an embodiment, one or more thermal sensors sends a signal to a thermal control module indicating that a pre-determined temperature threshold for a memory device or devices has been reached. The thermal control module may then begin tracking memory thermals or initiate thermal management operations based on the signal and history of memory device temperatures over time.
Abstract: Techniques for a land grid array (LGA) socket loading mechanism for mobile platforms are described. An apparatus includes a LGA socket mounted to a printed circuit board, and an LGA package seated in the LGA socket. The LGA package includes an LGA package substrate and a semiconductor die mounted on the LGA package substrate, and a heat pipe attached to the semiconductor die, wherein the heat pipe is to apply a compressive load to the semiconductor die. The heat pipe includes at least two leaf springs to apply a compressive load to the LGA package substrate. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract: Systems and methods of managing processing system performance provide for determining a utilization of a processing system over a time quantum. A trend in the utilization of the processing system is also determined, where the trend can be used to select a performance state for the processing system. In one embodiment, the processing system includes a central processing unit (CPU).
Abstract: A method and apparatus to perform frame parsing are described wherein a configuration module stores configuration information and a parsing module, connected to the configuration module, receives a frame of information and determines a frame format associated with the frame. Configuration information corresponding to the protocol is retrieved, and a set of hardware elements are reconfigured to parse the frame. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract: A compensating correction value for adjusting analog signals received from multiple antenna elements takes into account the effects of colored noise, co-channel interference, and inter-sample interference. The method of generating the compensating correction value for analog combining architectures considers the total channel impulse response over a block of time.
Abstract: Techniques to perform adaptive interference cancellation are described. A first apparatus may include a timing recovery module to produce a timing recovery command signal, an interference canceller to receive an interference reference signal and produce an interference canceller signal, and an interpolator to couple to the timing recovery module and the interference canceller, the interpolator to receive the timing recovery command signal and the interference canceller signal and produce an interpolated interference canceller signal. A second apparatus may include a time-domain interference canceller to receive an interference reference signal and produce a time-domain interference canceller signal and a frequency-domain interference canceller to receive the interference reference signal and produce a frequency-domain interference canceller signal. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract: Wake on wireless network techniques are described. An apparatus may include a wireless transceiver, a processor coupled to said transceiver, and a connection management module for execution by the processor. The connection management module may establish a connection with a client device, receive a sleep preparation message with at least one sleep parameter value from the client device, and set a timeout value for the connection based on the sleep parameter value. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and apparatus for managing power states in a personal computing device, while maintaining a perception by the user of “instant on” functionality. In various embodiments of the invention, the power states are presented to the user as a simple on/off option and the power management protocol is not visible within the user interface of the personal computing device thereby providing the user with the impression that the system is operating with a simple binary on/off protocol.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a method and technique for operating a computing device. An interface is displayed for enabling the computing device to control a voicemail system. The interface includes one or more display objects, wherein each display object is selectable by a user to enter a command input assigned to that display object. A selection is detected of any one of the one or more display objects, and the command input assigned to the display object is identified. A signal tone is generated corresponding to the command input. The signal input may be transmitted across a network to the voicemail system to communicate a command to the voicemail system.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a feed forward equalizer for a communication system are described. An equalizer comprising a tapped filter having multiple filter multipliers and a summing element is described. The equalizer further comprises a correlator having multiple correlator multipliers, with each correlator multiplier having a corresponding integrator, a set of shared delay elements to connect to the filter multipliers and the correlator multipliers; and an error signal generator to connect to the correlator.
Abstract: An application processor coupled to a Static Random Access Memory (SRAM) interfaces with a graphics accelerator. A Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) stores frame buffer data that may be transferred to a display through a switch located on the graphics accelerator in normal operation. In a power savings mode, the DRAM may be powered down and a copied frame buffer data stored in the SRAM may be transferred to the display through the switch.

Abstract: In general, in one aspect, the disclosure describes a method of determining if a first query for data related to a protocol data unit in a first table is a query to a table merged into a combination table formed from multiple tables. If so, the method can generate a second query for the first query for data stored by the combination table.

Abstract: Techniques involving the transfer of signals across interconnection media are disclosed. For instance, an apparatus may include an apparatus having an interconnection medium, a first device that may drive the interconnection medium, and a second device. The second device may include a pull-up resistor that is selectively coupled between the interconnection medium and a power source. For instance, the second device may disconnect a power source from the interconnection medium when the first device is in a power saving operational state. Otherwise, the pull-up resistance is coupled between the power source and the interconnection medium.
Abstract: An embodiment is an inductor that may include a laminated material structure to decrease eddy currents therein that may limit the operation of the inductor at high frequency. An embodiment may employ electroless plating techniques to form a layer or layers of magnetic material within the laminated material structure, and in particular those magnetic layers adjacent to insulator layers.
