  • Patent number: 8159341
Abstract: Provided is a system and method for providing monitoring of hazardous materials, including collecting environmental data via one or more sensors directed at the hazardous materials source, the environmental data including one or more environmentally detectable reference points; comparing the environmental data to a set of current ambient conditions, the environmental data detectable in a reference frame by the one or more sensors directed at the hazardous materials source, the reference frame including at least one of the one or more environmentally detectable reference points; performing an alert determination according to the comparison of the environmental data to the set of ambient conditions; and transmitting the alert determination to an existing fault detection system for the hazardous material source to enable the existing fault detection system to override a status rating of the hazardous materials source.

  • Patent number: 8127130
Abstract: A method is provided for securing data sets by dynamically hopping amongst a variety of data encryption and/or manipulation protocols. Such dynamic protocol hopping can be implemented in reconfigurable logic, or some combination of reconfigurable logic and fixed circuitry or software. The encryption and/or manipulation protocol applied to the data set is selected from among a plurality of encryption protocols in an, optionally upgradeable, library of protocols. Preferably, the selection can be driven by a random number generator. More preferably, the number of encryption protocols available can be extended using a logic-stretching engine. An apparatus is also provided for securing data, including a memory that contains data describing encryption protocols, a communications interface that is configured to receive data, and a processor that reads from the memory one of the encryption protocols and encrypts the received data based on the encryption protocol.

  • Patent number: 8121281
Abstract: Provided is a method for operating a server computer to provide an interactive application to enable a plurality of client-specific protocols for a remote call center, the remote call center configured to receive a plurality of calls for a plurality of clients. The method includes linearly administering a plurality of states defined in a process map of client-specific protocols for a plurality of call types expected to be received for each client; displaying the process map at the remote call center via a graphical user interface; and enabling a client to remotely alter the process map over an internet connection in near real-time.

  • Patent number: 8081699
Abstract: In one embodiment, a UWB transmission system includes a pair of crossed linearly polarized antennas, one of which is fed with a UWB signal current, while the second is fed with a temporally orthogonal UWB signal such as the time-derivative of the UWB signal current. The resultant field is elliptically polarized. In another transmission system, a loop and a co-located dipole are fed with the same current to generate signal exhibiting elliptical polarization. When the energies of the transmissions from each antenna are equal, the polarization is circular. In yet another embodiment, a polarization modulated transmitting and receiving system is disclosed in which the binary states are encoded in orthogonal polarizations, wherein left-handed polarization encodes one digital state while right-handed polarization encodes another digital data state, and data encoding is additionally provided.

  • Patent number: 8034274
Abstract: A method is disclosed for fabricating an anti-fatigue mat that employs a layer of resilient gel material that exhibits a first durometer. The method employs a frame assembly that receives a flexible support sheet. The frame assembly includes an aperture that receives a layer of heated liquid gel which cools to form the layer of resilient gel material exhibiting the first durometer. In one embodiment, a barrier layer exhibiting a second durometer is situated on the gel layer that exhibits the first durometer. In one embodiment, the barrier layer prevents the flow of oils from the gel layer to a flexible base sheet disposed on the barrier layer. In another embodiment, the flexible base sheet may exhibit a second durometer. In either embodiment, the layers exhibiting the first and second durometer cooperate to influence the feel of the mat to the user.
