Abstract: The patent claims concern a method for a more efficient "wet ?combustion! oxidation" of COD-containing effluents from industrial processes and municipal plants and for a more efficient COD-reduction by enzymes in aerobic and anaerobic biological cleaning processes and for same sorts of effluents. The method implies a strong increase of the reaction speed between added oxygen and the elements in the liquid to be oxidized through so-called "Turbo Oxidation", which implies that the liquid is submitted to strong movements nd turbulence during several circulations within one or more liquid circuits during continuous addition of oxygen. By the same method, COD reduction by enzymes can also be made more effective. The single circuit is placed in connection to and communicates liquid-wise with a pressurized reaction tank, from where the developed reaction gases are continuously let out.
Abstract: Lipcolor comprising a salt or hydroxide of di-or trivalent metal, a water-soluble alginate, a red or orange lake color having a COONa or COOK group, and an oil coponent having appearance of liquid at 20.degree. C. The lipcolor less yields a dry feeling or an uneasy feeling with the passage of time, and its color comes off less in friction with foods and drinks.
Abstract: A device for mounting felts in papermaking machines, which device consists of a supplementary strip mounted along the lengthwise edge or edges of the felt. Spaced apart apertures are formed in the strip along the length of the felt. The apertures are shaped so as to be gripped manually or by means of special tools. Instead of a strip with apertures formed therein separate gripping means in the form of handle loops may be attached to the felt in spaced-apart relationship along the edge or edges of the felt.
Abstract: An electronic display unit according to this invention is formed of a plurality of display elements arranged in a two dimensional array. The display elements are selectively activated to generate a message. All the preselected display elements are activated and deactivated simultaneously. The message may be moved vertically or laterally across the array. A memory element is provided for activating each display element. Preferably the information from each memory element is simultaneously shifted laterally to an adjacent memory element while the display elements are disabled.A buffer is provided as an interface between each display element and the corresponding memory element. The intensity of each display element may be controlled by varying the power supply level to the buffer.
