Abstract: An air bag is formed of a panel and a guide member fixed between two side portions of the panel. The guide member may be formed of first piece extending diagonally upwardly from a lower end near an opening of the panel to form an upper chamber, and a second piece extending diagonally downwardly from the lower end to form a lower chamber, wherein a middle chamber is defined by the front portion and first and second pieces. Gas generated by an inflator firstly enters into both the upper and lower chambers to expand the same and then flows into the middle chamber to completely inflate the air bag. The guide member may be formed of first and second guide member. The first guide member extends diagonally upwardly from a lower end adjacent the opening to form an upper chamber, and the second guide member extends upwardly from the lower portion of the air bag. A front chamber is defined between a front portion and the second guide member, and a middle chamber is defined between the first and second guide members.
Abstract: A green body molded in a pressurized slip casting machine is loaded onto a pallet and sent to a conveyor. An image of the green body is picked up from above by a CCD camera, and whether the green body is a rectangular tank or a triangular tank is distinguished. When the green body is a rectangular tank holes are made in it by a first holemaking device, and when the green body is a triangular tank holes are made in it by a second holemaking device. After that, water removal, shape correction, deburring and the like are carried out automatically.
Abstract: A metal laminate gasket of the invention is used for an internal combustion engine having at least one hole to be sealed. The gasket is basically formed of first and second metal plates extending substantially throughout an entire area of the engine. The first plate includes an annular recess formed at an upper side around a first hole to form a stepped portion. The second plate includes a curved portion to define a second hole to be located inside the first hole, and a flange extending from the curved portion in a direction away from the second hole. The flange has a thickness greater than the depth of the annular recess. When the gasket is assembled, the flange is located above the annular recess. The flange provides surface pressure around the hole of the engine greater than that outside the recess when the gasket is tightened. The surface pressure around the hole may be precisely adjusted.
Abstract: A concentration measurement apparatus capable of accurately measuring the concentration of suspended matter in a liquid is provided.A transmitter 1 which transmits sound waves, light waves, or the like, and a receiver 2, which is disposed in opposition to this transmitter 1, are provided, small pipes 3 and 4, which enclose the transmitting surface position of the transmitter and the receiving surface position of the receiver, and which are opened in the direction of transmission and the direction of reception, respectively, are provided, and a mechanism for filling these small pipes with a clean liquid or gas is provided. The transmitting surface of the transmitter and the receiving surface of the receiver are not contaminated by means of the deposition or generation of suspended matter, so that it is possible to conduct the accurate measurement of the concentration in a constant manner.
