Abstract: A semi-freestanding drapery extension beam comprising (i) two vertical side supports each having a ground-engaging end and a ceiling-engaging end; (ii) a top beam having its ends connected between the ceiling-engaging ends of the side supports; and (iii) a drapery slot extending along the length of said top beam. Additionally, support brackets can be implemented between the top beam and each vertical side support to hold the top beam in position and help it support a vertical load. A sheer clip and tie back hooks can also be implemented to increase the aesthetic beauty of the drapes hung from the inventive beam. Finally, the beam is easily folded for storage or transport. In another embodiment of the present invention, the two vertical side supports are used without a transverse top beam. Again, this allows the use of vertically adjustable tie back hooks without damaging the surrounding walls.
Abstract: An improved design and method and of manufacturing a luminous tube electrode comprises the steps of placing an electrode shell in an outer tube and allowing conductors connected to the electrode shell to emanate from an open end of the outer tube. A tubulation with a flared end is then butted up against the end of the outer tube, thereby sandwiching the conductors between the flared end of the tubulation and the outer tube. The flared end of the tubulation are then fused to one another forming a hermetic seal between each other and the conductors, resulting in the finished electrode. A further provision is made to blow a bubble in the tubulation.
Abstract: A simulated solid wood multi panel door is disclosed. Predetermined portions of thin sheets of wood which form the front and back of the door are cut away. The portions are replaced with artificial panels, which panels are mounted within the openings left by the cut away portions. Molding is then preferably placed around the artificial panels.
Abstract: A sport utility bag is disclosed which includes a plurality of individually accessible compartments on said utility bag with at least one of said compartments having access means on said bottom panel of said bag to allow easy cleaning, said bag also comprising an elongate compartment extending along a length of said utility bag designed to securely carry a rod-shaped object such as a bat. The novel bag prevents items from cluttering and interfering with each other, and ensures that dirt from certain items does not contaminate other items.
Abstract: A blade shave counter is disclosed which counts the number of shaves for which an interchangeable shaving blade has been used, and displays the count on an LCD display mounted preferably on the shaving handle of a shaving instrument. Optionally, an audible alarm sounds or an LED is activated when the count reaches a predetermined or user selectable value.
Abstract: An improved surgical staple is disclosed wherein predetermined regions of the staple legs are weakened to cause bending and deformation of said legs in a controlled manner. The staple provides a uniform compression of a tissue into which it is inserted.
Abstract: An improved surgical stapling method and apparatus therefor is disclosed in which parallel rows of staples are inserted prior to forming an incision. When the incision is to be closed, the corresponding staples of the two rows are brought together by suitable locking pins or other techniques.
