Abstract: A plant hanger suitable for attaching to the rim of an upwardly positioned flower pot is disclosed. The plant hanger includes generally a plurality of strong, flexible, similar members, each of which terminates upwardly in an upper pot engaging hook. Each of the plurality of members terminates downwardly in a member interconnector of suitable configuration to retain a lower pot support therein. The plant hanger can be easily connected to an upper positioned pot by engaging rim portions of the upper pot with member connected hooks. When properly installed, the plant hanger member interconnector is positioned below and in axial alignment with the upper positioned pot to receive and support the hanger of a lower positioned pot.

  • Patent number: 4485934
Abstract: A tamperproof closure is disclosed for use with a container nozzle having a circular transfer bead. The closure includes a top and depending sidewalls which are defined from a bottom extension by a circular weakened seam. An interior groove is provided in the bottom extension of diameter less than the diameter of the transfer bead. A plurality of slots are formed in the bottom extension between the weakened seam and the interior groove to provide a degree of flexibility. The closure may be applied to the nozzle in either a threaded connection or in a snap ring connection. Upon opening the container, the frictional engagement between the transfer bead and the interior groove will cause the bottom extension to remain tightly affixed to the transfer bead, thereby causing the closure to sever along the weakened seam.

  • Patent number: 4475309
Abstract: A modular protective grill is disclosed for removably overfitting a building opening, such as a window. The grill includes a decorative central body which terminates vertically in an upper tubular frame member and a lower tubular frame member. Tubular side attachment bars are affixed to the window jambs and upwardly and downwardly carry telescoping vertical frame extensions. Horizontal frame extensions telescope within the lateral ends of the upper and lower tubular frame members and respectively carry vertical pivot pins. The pivot pins insert into the free ends of the vertical frame extensions to allow the central body to pivot about either side attachment bar by disconnecting the opposite side. The protective grill includes tamper-proof break-away construction members to permit emergency egress upon opening a side of the grill construction.

  • Patent number: 4474392
Abstract: The pipe fitting includes a center body of predetermined configuration, for example, wye or tee shape, of desired pipe size. The center body terminates at each of its ends in a lock junction to receive thereon in locked relationship an end hub of the type suitable for receiving and interconnecting the spigot end of a length of plastic pipe. Each lock junction includes a shoulder upon which the end hub is seated, an endwardly positioned lock and a circular, peripheral recess positioned between the shoulder and the lock. The end hub includes an inwardly inclined projection to cooperate with and securely seat within the center body lock. A circular gasket is secured within the circular recess and biases against a portion of the inner periphery of the end hub to prevent leakage between the parts.

  • Patent number: 4470559
Abstract: A ball type yarn tensioning device with improved threading capability is disclosed. The device includes a ball chamber having an open top. The ball chamber terminates downwardly in a bottom insert which provides a seat for a ball within the ball chamber for yarn tensioning. A cap overfits the top of the ball chamber and includes a diametrically positioned, elongated opening. A top ceramic insert of elongated rounded configuration is secured about the elongated top opening and the yarn passes therethrough. The elongated configuration facilitates threading the device by permitting a threading instrument to be inserted through the ceramic insert and the bottom insert in slanted orientation that is angularly offset from the longitudinal axis of the device.

  • Patent number: 4467948
Abstract: A waste stripping machine for automatically removing waste from previously die-cut blanks is disclosed. The machine incorporates a feed conveyor to deliver the blanks individually to a stripping section in planar alignment. The stripping section includes a pair of transversely spaced waste strippers which are spaced apart an adjustable distance that is equal to the width of the blank. A rack and pinion traversing mechanism is included to easily move one waste stripper relative to the other for blank size adjustment purposes. Each waste stripper is fabricated with a driving belt and two driven belts whereby one driven belt defines a planar waste engaging area with the driving belt and the other driven belt defines a circular waste engaging area with the driving belt. The machine is powered by a single motor which functions the feed conveyor and the waste strippers in synchronism to deliver the stripped blank to discharge rollers, which rollers are also rotated in synchronism.

  • Patent number: 4466220
Abstract: A self-locking, clear plastic clip is used to attach a decorative grillwork to a framed window insert. The clip may be factory installed between the window glass and the frame to allow for the later application of a decorative grill over the window without the need to drill holes through the grill and the insert frame. The clip is generally channel-shaped in cross sectional configuration and includes a web of length suitable to span the grill border. An attaching leg depends from one end of the web and is formed with a transverse tongue for engagement within the frame putty groove. A grill connection leg depends from the other end of the web to secure the grill in planar juxtaposition to the glass. A nib-like head extends upwardly from the web to facilitate bending of the clip for grill installation purposes.

  • Patent number: 4460013
Abstract: The pressure-vacuum vent is adapted to communicate an internal storage chamber with atmosphere at predetermined pressure and vacuum conditions. The vent includes a poppet valve member that moves upwardly within a body to vent the chamber to atmosphere when the pressure build up in the chamber reaches a predetermined level. A non-deforming mass is supported on the upper wall of the valve member for preventing the member from moving upwardly until the predetermined pressure build up in the storage chamber is reached. A hood assembly overfits the body and includes external and internal hoods. The internal hood is contained within the upper open end of the vent and includes an internal cavity facing upwardly to receive rain and other foreign matter. The external hood includes a sidewall that flares outwardly from an upper opening in vertical alignment with the cavity in the internal hood to a lower end overlying the sidewall of the vent body.

  • Patent number: RE31811
Abstract: An aluminum baseball bat with plug of solid rubber or similar material at one end thereof and a knob at the other end is disclosed. The rubber end plug is sealed in place in a leak-proof junction to define a hollow interior space. By inserting a needle through the end plug, fluid communication between a source of air or other gas which is pressurized either above or below atmospheric pressure and the interior of the bat space can be provided to achieve a desired pressure therewithin. Once the desired interior pressure has been achieved, the needle is withdrawn and the natural resiliency of the rubber acts to immediately seal the puncture to thereby permanently maintain the desired interior pressure conditions.
