  • Patent number: 5971146
Abstract: A locking golf bag has a body portion that includes a tubular wall having an inner surface, an outer surface and an upper edge. A divider plate that has a first opening and a second opening is secured to the tubular wall along the inner surface thereof. The bag also includes a closing member that is coupled to the divider plate and moveable between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The closing member has an outer edge, a first aperture, and a second aperture. When the closing member is in the open configuration, the first aperture is aligned with the first opening such that the first opening has an open size and the second aperture is aligned with the second opening such that the second opening has a first effective size. When the closing member is in the closed configuration, the first aperture is aligned with the first opening such that the first opening has a closed size and the second aperture is aligned with the second opening such that the second opening has a second effective size.

  • Patent number: 5807183
Abstract: A golf-swing training device includes an elongated cylindrical member which has a first end, an open second end, and a tubular channel that extends between the first end and the open second end. A stretchable member which has a first end and a second end extends through the channel and has a pre-determined length such that the second end of the stretchable member is positioned proximate the open second end of the cylindrical member. A securing mechanism fixedly secures the first end of the stretchable member to the cylindrical member proximate the first end of the cylindrical member. The device also includes a weight that is coupled to the second end of the stretchable member by a coupling mechanism. The weight can be either a ball or a golf-club head. When the device is swung like a golf club, the motion of the weight provides feedback as to whether or not the device was accelerated properly during the swinging action.

  • Patent number: 5794277
Abstract: A device automatically closes the cover of a container after a predetermined time interval and is used in combination with a timing member, such as a conventional mechanical timer, that includes timer mechanism for measuring a predetermined time interval, a shaft that is rotatable between a de-activated position and an activated position, and an arm that is moveable between an extended position and a retracted position. The device includes a plate member, a first hinge assembly, a first hinge member, a coupling mechanism, a gear, and a connection mechanism. The first hinge assembly includes a cylindrical member that is rotatable in a first direction and a second direction and has a chamber which is sized to receive a portion of the shaft. The hinge member is secured to the cylindrical member and rotates concurrently with the cylindrical member.

  • Patent number: 5667250
Abstract: Security of game cards such as instant lottery tickets can be improved by locating a confusion pattern below a primer layer on the game cards substrate and by locating another confusion pattern on a release coat above the game card play indica. Game card security can be further enhanced by using confusion pattern ink that bleeds through the game card in response to the application of various solvents.

  • Patent number: 5658797
Abstract: A device for treating cell cultures, especially hepatocytes, on plate-like culture slides, at least a part of the surfaces of the slides is gas permeable with oxygen being introduced inside of the slides. On the culture slide is applied a coating of collagen (5,7) on or in which is the cell culture (6). The next cell culture slide (1) is arranged closely above the collagen coating (5,7). The culture medium can be introduced into the space between the collagen coating (5,7) and the next culture slide (1).

  • Patent number: 5622116
Abstract: A trailer (100) is provided that transports coils (20) in a trough formed by at least one pair of longitudinally extending spaced-apart support members (8,8') that extend upwardly away from each other towards the bed plane (BP) of trailer (100) such that a peripheral portion of coils (20) are engaged by support members (8,8') below bed plane (BP). Trailer (100) preferably includes containment structures (10, 10') to provide a cage-like structure about support members (8,8') and coils (20) and further preferably includes protective covering over coils (20) in the form of clam shell like sections (16, 16') as well as bar members (32) on opposite sides of each coil (20) that are operative to prevent coils (20) from telescoping.

  • Patent number: 5564135
Abstract: A collapsible splash guard is provided that is relatively permanently secured to the lower surface of a toilet seat. The splash guard includes a base plate shaped and sized to substantially conform with the shape and size of the toilet bowl rim, a pleated, substantially U-shaped splash shield, and attachment members for attaching a first portion of the splash shield to the base plate. The splash guard also includes pivotal securing members for pivotally securing a second portion of the splash shield to the base plate and members for hingedly attaching the splash guard to the lower face of the toilet seat. The attachment members can either permanently or removable attach the first portion of the splash guard to the base plate. The splash guard can further include a flange which extends downwardly from an inner edge of the base plate such that the attachment members either permanently or removably attach the first portion of the splash shield to an inner face of the flange.
