Abstract: A vehicular seat trim cover attachment device having a plurality of female attachment portions interconnected to one another by at least one connecting portion. The attachment device is preferably flexible in at least two independent planes. Each female attachment portion has a receptacle portion and a base portion. Each base portion is connected to the connecting portion. Each base portion has a lateral dimension greater than a lateral dimension of the receptacle portion. At least a portion of the connecting portion is disposed in an exoplanar relationship with respect to a pair of female attachment portions that have substantially coplanar base portions. Preferably, the connecting portion extends below the bottom surfaces of the adjacent base portions.

Abstract: A system for controlling inbound transition of an aircraft includes a fuselage and first and second freewings pivotably mounted on opposing sides thereof. The system includes an airspeed sensor that outputs an airspeed indication signal. The system includes a controller for increasing aircraft engine thrust to substantially maximum for inbound transition, and for generating pitch and freewing control signals. The system includes actuators for actuating aircraft control surfaces in response to the pitch control signal to rapidly increase pitch of the fuselage to decelerate the aircraft, and for actuating freewing control surfaces in response to the freewing control signal to adjust lift produced by the freewings to oppose climbing of the aircraft due to the increase in engine thrust and the increase in the fuselage pitch. The controller is configured to decrease the engine thrust as the aircraft decelerates until the aircraft is in a hover mode.
Abstract: A novel communication channel structure and method in a wireless communication system is provided. In an embodiment of the invention, the communication system includes a base station and a plurality of subscriber stations and the subscriber stations are given access to a variety of channels, including at least one uplink data channel. The uplink data channel can operate in at least a random access mode and a polled access mode. The base station informs each subscriber station it serves of the current mode of the uplink channel via an associated downlink signaling channel and, in random access mode, each subscriber station is able to randomly access the shared uplink channel. In polled mode, each subscriber station waits for permission from the base station before sending data over the shared uplink channel.
