  • Patent number: 6419579
Abstract: A slot machine, of the type having a video display screen which displays a plurality of rotatable reels carrying symbols, is arranged to pay a prize on the occurrence of a predetermined symbol or combination of symbols. The game includes a special feature which is invoked when a special triggering combination of symbols occurs. Once the special feature is triggered a wild symbol moves around the screen progressively replacing each symbol in the display with a die symbol and the prize generated is multiplied by the value shown on the die.

  • Patent number: 6418115
Abstract: An exchange changes a route of a transmission path to bypass a malfunctioning switch. The transmission path is formed in a switch network including a plurality of switches for transmitting communication information. The switch network is provided with a plurality of inputs and a plurality of outputs so that the transmission path is formed between one of the inputs and one of the outputs by routing the switches in the switch network. A malfunctioning switch detecting unit detects a location of the malfunctioning switch in the switch network. The route of the transmission path is changed by switching one of the inputs and outputs connected to the transmission path based on predetermined routing information which indicates a route to bypass the malfunctioning switch in relation to the inputs or the outputs of the switch network.

  • Patent number: 6407654
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay is basically constructed by an insulation base and an armature block. Herein, the insulation base is constructed by a fixed-side terminal set including fixed contacts, a coil block in which a coil is wound about a middle portion of a U-shape iron core, and a permanent magnet, all of which are integrally held together by a fixed-side insulator. The armature block is constructed by a moving-side terminal set including moving contacts and an armature, all of which are integrally held by a moving-side insulator. The armature block is mounted on the insulation base in such a way that the moving contacts are placed opposite to the fixed contacts respectively, and it is supported by a support point to pivotally move on the permanent magnet under an effect of electromagnetic force.

  • Patent number: 6400729
Abstract: A protocol conversion system is provided to secure a highly reliable and smooth data communication between different two types of networks whose protocols differs in types from each other. A protocol conversion between such networks is realized by replacing headers added to communication data. Information indicating that sending data was success or failure in transmission is included in the headers, thereby sending results being recognized. A serial interface intervenes between the self and party systems in order to detect states of the party system. Further, for data communication, without processing (or terminating) layers up to an application layer, only lower layers, that is, a transport layer and layers lower than it, are processed (or terminated) to raise reliability in data communication.

  • Patent number: 6396835
Abstract: An ATM switch supplies an ATM terminal with a display command for causing a display apparatus provided in an ATM communication apparatus or an ATM transmission route to provide a display. The communication apparatuses and the ATM transmission route receiving the display command cause respective light-emitting bodies to emit light. Thus, the transmission route on which the display command is transmitted is visualized by illuminated display. The status of failure is readily determined based on the status of illuminated display.
