Abstract: A data relaying apparatus for relaying data bidirectionally transmitted between a first communication apparatus and a second communication apparatus includes a first symbol string generator configured to generate, in accordance with a first modulation method, a first symbol string from first data transmitted from the second communication apparatus; a second symbol string generator configured to generate, in accordance with a second modulation method, a second symbol string from second data transmitted from the first communication apparatus; and a combining unit configured to combine a first symbol of the first symbol string and a second symbol of the second symbol string by calculating an exclusive OR on the first symbol and the second symbol to generate a third symbol string to be multicasted to the first communication apparatus and the second communication apparatus.

Abstract: A communications system includes a multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) architecture for high capacity switched mesh networks. The MIMO architecture has a plurality of radio frequency chains. One of the plurality of radio frequency chains is configured to apply a first frequency offset to a base frequency of an output signal to generate a first transmitting frequency; and another of the plurality of radio frequency chains being configured to apply a second frequency offset to the base frequency to generate a second transmitting frequency. The system uses the carrier frequency offset to lock the clock of the master subsystem to the clock of the slave subsystem, thereby enabling bandwidth expansion to be employed on the MIMO data streams.

A USB device which is detachable from the portable terminal is provided with a USB connector which is inserted into a USB port of the portable terminal, a power source terminal which comes into contact with a power supply terminal of the portable terminal, when the USB connector is inserted into the USB port of the portable terminal, and a screw which is engaged with a screw hole of the portable terminal. When the screw is engaged with the screw hole of the portable terminal, a switch inside the screw hole is pushed down due to a contact with the screw. The portable terminal detects mounting of the USB device by an output from the switch, and initiates power supplying from the power supply terminal of the portable terminal to the power source terminal of the USB device.
