Abstract: An improved fence tie and methods of using that fence tie are disclosed. Dimensions for bending wire are described for bending a wire to form a helical section, two straight ends and a straight section adjacent to the helical section in a configuration having a form that generally resembles certain known twist type fence ties.
Abstract: Magnetic nanostructures comprised of an assembly of magnetic nanorods held together by dipole forces in a dendritic pattern and their method of manufacture. The dendritic magnetic nanostructures are prepared at room temperature by applying a magnetic field to a reverse micelle system wherein at least one salt of a magnetic metal is being precipitated within the core of the reverse micelle.
Abstract: A shackle apparatus including a generally U-shaped shackle body having an arcuate end, a pair of parallel arms, and a retaining member spanning a gap defined between the shackle arms. The retaining member cooperates with the shackle body to define a closed loop which can be permanently attached to a sling or lifting cable. The retaining member prevents the shackle apparatus from being removed and installed on another sling or lifting cable without substantially destroying the shackle apparatus of the present invention.
