Abstract: A connector for quick connect/disconnect engagement between two or more segments of coaxial cable has a hollow housing for attaching to a first electrical conductor and a coupler for attaching to a second electrical conductor. The housing and the coupler move to a limited distance in a sliding relation to each other. A locking member is fitted between the housing and the coupler to lock position of the housing in relation to the coupler and disengage the housing from the coupler when needed. The locking member has a compression spring that normally urges the housing away from the coupler and locking balls fitted in cutouts made in the locking member. When the spring is compressed, the locking balls move from the cutouts into an annular groove formed in the inner wall of the housing, thus allowing a limited sliding movement of the housing.

Abstract: A food-cooking vessel has a bottom plate and an upwardly extending continuous sidewall. A spigot assembly is secured to the sidewall above the bottom plate to allow draining of liquid from the vessel. A valve mounted in the spigot assembly regulates the flow of liquid from the vessel to an outlet spout. A filter is mounted in the spout to filter solid particles from the drained liquid. The spigot assembly has an attachment plate that is fixedly secured on the convex exterior surface of the sidewall surrounding a drain opening formed in the sidewall. A cylindrical attachment member is fixedly attached to the plate and extends through the plate into the drain opening without contacting the wall of the container, thereby avoiding the necessity of having the cylindrical member to conform to the convex wall of the vessel.

Abstract: A method of cleaning articles, such as infant feeding bottles is disclosed. The method provides for the use of alkali metal chloride, more particularly sodium chloride. The salt is deposited into the article to be cleaned, then water is added, and then the article is shaken to cause the crystalline substance to contact the interior walls of the container, thereby cleaning and sanitizing the interior of the article.

Abstract: An assembly for transferring solid particulate matter has a pressurized vessel for retaining a pre-determined quantity of the solid material. A discharge conduit connected to the vessel carries the solid material to a loading vessel, be it a processing tank, a storage vessel, or any other similar container. A discharge nozzle carried by a distant end of the discharge conduit is also connected to a dust collection container. Vacuum created in the dust collection container facilitates entrapment of dust particles generated during transfer of the solid material through the discharge container and carrying of the dust particles away from the discharge opening of the discharge nozzle into the dust collection container.

Abstract: Frangible objects that become packed in large containers are removed by crushing the objects while they are still in the containers. A motor-driven crushing assembly is lowered into the container, where rotating strikers come into contact with the frangible objects and break the objects into smaller fragments. The broken fragments are guided into a guiding chute, from which they may be removed by conventional industrial vacuum equipment. The invention may be used for unloading ceramic packing from acid towers.

Abstract: A cleaning composition for treating and removing stains from a non-porous surface has one or more salts, such as quaternary ammonium salts, sulfates and chlorides, a chelator and a dispersant, dissolved in an aqueous solution of alcohol. The preferred salts are myristyltrimethylammonium bromide and benzethonium chloride, the chelator is tetrasodium salt ethylenediamine of tetraacetic acid, and the dispersant is polyvinyl alcohol. The cleaning composition is incorporated into a product, which has a non-woven polyester carrier impregnated with the cleaning composition.

Abstract: A semi-submersible floating production vessel which has a ring pontoon. Three main columns extend upwardly from corners of the pontoon and three secondary, minor columns. extend upwardly from centers of the triangle sides. The columns are surrounded with fenders for protecting the columns from impact with floating bodies. The columns support an open frame deck, on which production modules are positioned. The vessel is adapted for semi-permanent mooring with pre-tensioned mooring lines that are attached to swivel padeyes secured on the main columns below the water line. Production and export risers are connected to the vessel below the water line. Compressed air ballast system allows selective emptying of ballast compartments located in the ring pontoon and eliminates the need for a conventional pump room.

Abstract: An electric workstation in the shape of a hollow cabinet allows bringing electrical power connections to a site remote from a municipal electrical power supply. The cabinet is provided with one or more electrical sockets for connecting of electrically-powered tools and equipment, as well as one or more reels for holding electrical extension cords. A pair of front stationary legs and rotating wheels that allow easy moving of the cabinet to the desired location supports the cabinet. A handle secured adjacent the upper part of the cabinet allows to pull or push the cabinet when required.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder for mounting on a pedestal of and under a seat of a fishing chair carried by a deck of a boat. The fishing rod holder provides for retaining one or more fishing rods in a variety of angularly oriented positions, such a storage position and a position where the fishing lines are cast in the water. The holder is formed as an open frame defined by a top plate, a parallel bottom plate and a pair or more side plates extending between the top plate and the bottom plate. Openings in the top and bottom plates allow sliding of the holder on the pedestal of the fishing chair. Tubular members are secured on angular braces connecting the top plate(s) with the side plates. The tubular members receive ends of fishing rod handles when the fishing rods are oriented in the operational position.

Abstract: This invention pertains to therapeutic antibacterial/antifungal-wound healing compositions comprise a therapeutically effective amount of antibacterial agents and/or antifungal agents and/or wound healing composition alone. In one embodiment, the wound healing composition comprises (a) zinc oxide and (b) fat-soluble vitamins. The therapeutic antibacterial/antifungal-wound healing compositions may be utilized in a wide variety of pharmaceutical products. This invention also relates to methods for preparing and using the antibacterial/antifungal-wound healing compositions and the pharmaceutical products in which the therapeutic compositions may be used.

Abstract: A hand-held breathing device for use by patients having respiratory problems creates a sealed backpressure in the airways of the patient by creating resistance to exhalation. A peep valve is mounted inside a hollow body, and a pre-set compression spring is mounted between the valve and an adjustable cap or cam lever in the main body of the device. A pair of valve openings extend through the wall of the main body, one opening serving as an intake port for inhaling of air by the patient and the second port—for exhalation of carbon dioxide. An intake valve is mounted inside the body between a normally open end of the device and the exhalation valve. In one of the embodiments, the device is attached to a nebulizer to facilitate buildup of positive pressure and delivery of medication to the patients' lungs.

The first cylindrical member carries a sharp blade on its proximate end; the second cylindrical member has a stapling mechanism mounted inside for stapling the circumcised foreskin and reducing bleeding. The foreskin is pushed back from the head of the penis to lie against the outer wall of the first cylindrical member; then the second cylindrical member is moved to extend in part over the cut area where tissue-absorbable staples are applied.

Abstract: A portable flashlight or lantern has a main body for housing a primary source of electrical power, such as batteries and a light bulb operationally connected to the batteries. A secondary housing is detachably secured on the main body for holding a spare set of batteries without electrically connecting the spare batteries to the light bulb. When the primary batteries are exhausted, the user disengages a coupler that holds the secondary housing and the main body together, removes the spare batteries and substitutes them for the old batteries.

Abstract: A crib mattress cover has a top panel and a bottom panel sewn together and configured to fit over a rectangular crib mattress. One end of the cover is open, and a plurality of securing elements are attached along the opposing edges of the panels, on the interior surfaces thereof. When the securing members, which may be hook and loop fasteners, or a zipper, are joined together, the cover tightly fits over the mattress and cannot be easily dislodged by an infant resting in the crib.

Abstract: A pipe handling system is designed for use on an offshore structure, particularly an offshore structure provided with a cantilevered drill floor. The pipe handling system allows to handle significantly longer sections of tubulars, up to 100 feet, if necessary. The pipe handling system transports the pipes from a horizontal pipe rack adjacent to a drill floor to a vertical orientation in a set-back area of the drill floor where the drill string or casing is made up for lowering down hole. The cantilevered drill floor allows to save valuable platform space, while not significantly increasing the cost of the drilling rig. The pipe handling system, while increasing the length of handled tubulars, reduces the number of joints for making of a drill string, thereby significantly reducing the cost of pipe handling operations.
