  • Patent number: 5184950
Abstract: A process for the decontamination of a solid product polluted by a contaminant which can be vaporized by heating under vacuum, and devices for carrying out such a process, wherein the product is introduced into a heating and evacuating enclosure (3, 37, 72), said product is heated, substantially in bulk, within a given temperature range, a vacuum being created in said enclosure which is sufficient to reduce the pressure of the enclosure below the vaporization threshold of the contaminant within said temperature range, said temperature and reduced pressure conditions in the enclosure are maintained for a sufficient time to vaporize substantially all the contaminant contained in said product, the vaporized contaminant is extracted by sucking the atmosphere out of the enclosure, and said contaminant which has been sucked out is condensed.

  • Patent number: 5179945
Abstract: An automatic implantable defibrillator/cardioverter having a non-committed defibrillation/cardioversion algorithm. The defibrillator/cardioverter includes an ECG amplifier with automatic gain control (AGC) which detects the electrical activity of the heart for analysis by a cardiac condition detector. Logic is provided which receives input from the ECG amplifier and the cardiac condition detector for analyzing the heart activity. The non-committed defibrillation algorithm sensing begins upon the determination of an arrhythmia. The capacitor is charged while the heart activity is simultaneously monitored. After the capacitor is charged, a check is made on the duration of the last detected R-R interval while so charging the capacitor, and a comparison is made between this R-R interval and a preset value. If the last R-R interval is greater than the preset value, a non-committing period is entered which lasts approximately 2 seconds.

  • Patent number: PP8553
Abstract: I disclose that my herein invention of a new variety of Zoysia grass plant was discovered by me as a found seedling in a pot of sterile medium on my farm in Waimanalo, Oahu, Hawaii. This new discovered Zoysia grass plant is a perennial, which exhibits an attractive deep green color, color Green number 141 A, as defined by The Royal Horticultural Society of London Colour Chart, of a low decumbent dense growth habit, that produces outstanding vigorous growth and a prolific rhizome system. The anthers are dark purplish-red color, color Red-Purple 61 B; the stigmas are pale yellow-green, color Yellow-Green 150 D. The entire plant of the new claimed variety of Zoysia grass plant, is glabrous except for several short hairs at the top of the leaf sheath at the sides of the ligule.
