  • Patent number: 8306419
Abstract: Techniques for controlling a light source in a wavelength division multiplexed passive optical network (WDM-PON) are disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the techniques may be realized as an apparatus for controlling a light source in a wavelength division multiplexed passive optical network (WDM-PON). The apparatus may include a digital signal processing device configured to output a pilot tone signal. The apparatus may also include an amplifier configured to modulate a modulation current and the pilot tone signal, and output an amplitude modulated signal. The apparatus may further include a capacitor configured to AC couple the amplitude modulated signal to a bias current applied to a light source; and a monitoring photodiode configured to detect an output optical signal of the light source and transmit the detected output optical signal to the digital signal processing device to control the output optical signal of the light source.

  • Patent number: 7236591
Abstract: A method for performing turbo decoding in an advanced mobile communication system is disclosed, in which an interleaving operation, a maximum a posteriori (MAP) decoding operation, and a deinterleaving operation are implemented simultaneously. Signals stored in a specific address space of a memory are decoded in a predetermined order and, at the same time, each decoded signal is stored in the same specific address space previously used to store the signals prior to decoding. Accordingly, the turbo decoding time can be reduced by half and the size of the memory for storing extrinsic information can also be reduced by half.

  • Patent number: 7230614
Abstract: The present invention relates to a display, and more particularly, to circuit for driving a display of a low power consumption. For the purpose, the circuit includes a light emitting display of current driven type having a plurality of column electrode lines arranged in a column direction, a plurality of row electrode lines arranged perpendicular to the column electrode lines, and a matrix of pixels at crossing points of the column electrode lines and the row electrode lines, a power source part, a column driving circuit connected to the column electrode lines formed in the column direction for supplying/discharging a current to/from the column electrode lines, for driving the light emitting display of current driven type, and an electric transformer for, when the current supplied to the column electrode lines is discharged, recovering the current discharged from the column electrode lines and re-supplying a recovered current to the power source part.
