  • Patent number: 7342761
Abstract: The application of electric power from a power source to a load is controlled by detecting the magnitude of electric current flowing to the load and producing a first signal level that is indicative of that magnitude. The first signal level is compared to a reference signal level which comparison produces an output signal. Either the first signal level or the reference signal level is altered in response to variation of voltage applied to the load. This results in the output signal indicating when electric power consumed by the load exceeds a threshold level. The flow of electric current from the power source to the load then is controlled in response to the output signal.

  • Patent number: 7339948
Abstract: A transmission schedule is overlaid on the Ethernet protocol to allow use of this readily available high speed protocol for transmission of I/O data communicated in an industrial control environment and requiring a high degree of determinism. • Patent number: 7339125
Abstract: A safety switch operating mechanism having an engagement mechanism mechanically linked to a plunger and arranged to receive an actuator such that insertion of the actuator into the engagement mechanism moves the plunger to a first position and removal of the actuator from the engagement mechanism moves the plunger to a second position. • Patent number: 7287184
Abstract: A safety controller executes a control program in two processing units to detect processor failure by comparison of the execution in each unit. This comparison is made rapid by synchronizing the input variables at the beginning of the task and comparing output variables at a conclusion of the task, avoiding line-by-line comparison of input and output variables. Intermediate variables, that are neither input nor output values, are compared at a less frequent interval.
