  • Patent number: 7288050
Abstract: A magnetically resistive exercise device for rehabilitative therapy provides a body with adjustably inclinable planar work surfaces and a curvilinear work surface all formed of magnetically permeable material. A movable exercise piece supportable by or on a user's hand or foot carries at least one magnet for user generated motion over the work surfaces. Therapeutic rehabilitation is provided by frictional resistance to movement of the exercise piece on work surface. The frictional resistance may be adjustably varied by number and strength of magnets carried in the exercise piece and by surface coverings of differing frictional characteristics on the exercise piece, the work surface or both.

  • Patent number: 7260903
Abstract: Ejector mechanism for the excavator bucket of a back hoe provides two laterally spaced ejector arms irrotatably carried on an ejector arm shaft journaled in horizontal orientation in the chamber of the excavator bucket to fit against the back and adjacent the sides of the bucket and pivot away from the back. A laterally medial powering arm irrotatably carried by the ejector arm shaft communicates through the back and extends forwardly to move upon an angulated ramp carried by the bucket tilting arm mechanism to pivot the ejector arms away from the back of the bucket as the bucket is tilted to a horizontal dumping position. The powering arm shaft is spring biased to maintain the ejector arms adjacent the bucket back when the bucket chamber is empty. The mechanism is retrofitable on various back hoe buckets of present day commerce.

  • Patent number: 7249386
Abstract: A pool lift has a base, releasably positionable on a pool deck spacedly adjacent a pool edge. The base pivotally mounts an elongate arcuate lift frame about an axis parallel to the pool edge. A hydraulic cylinder extends in pivotal interconnection between the base and the medial portion of the arcuate lift frame to pivotally move a chair user support, carried by the lift frame and oriented in a direction parallel to the adjacent pool edge, from a first upright position spacedly above the pool deck to a second downward position spacedly below the pool deck in the pool cavity. An orienting cable maintains the chair user support in horizontal seating orientation during its course of motion. The hydraulic cylinder preferably is powered by a household pressurized water supply.

  • Patent number: 7222430
Abstract: An object locator sight aiding a first person to communicate the location of a distant object to a second person provides a laterally elongate base, carrying upstanding forward and spacedly adjacent rearward panels. The forward panel is perpendicular to the base and defines objective sight elements inwardly adjacent each end portion. The rearward panel is parallel to the forward panel and defines ocular sight elements inwardly adjacent each end portion. A sight line passing through the aligned first ocular sight element and the first objective sight element is intersected by a sight line passing through the second ocular sight element and the second objective sight element.

  • Patent number: 7083513
Abstract: A portable ventilator for removing deleterious gasses from a welding site provides a funnel-like collection head structurally carried by an electrically non-conductive rigid dispersement tube carrying a powering structure. The powering structure provides pressurized gas from an external source through an adjustment valve to an input nozzle carried in axial alignment in the channel defined by the dispersement tube spacedly adjacent the joinder of the collection head with the dispersement tube to output pressurized gas toward the distal output end of the dispersement tube.

  • Patent number: 7077289
Abstract: A dispenser for individual strip bandages from a rolled elongate bandage supply having the individual strip bandages releasably interconnected between a pair of cover strips defining chambers about each strip bandage. The dispenser provides a feed spindle carrying the bandage supply that is moved to a cover strip separator adjacent to a delivery slot in a casement. The cover strips are removed from a given strip bandage in the separator and pass along waste courses to motor powered take-up devices which move the bandage supply and disperse the given strip bandage through the delivery slot. At least one cover strip waste course has a tension sensor to sense tension in the associated cover strip to control the take-up device moving the associated cover strip to maintain synchronization of the motion of the pair of cover strips on the take-up devices moving them.

  • Patent number: 7051444
Abstract: A measuring and marking apparatus for firewood includes an upstanding tubular body having a handle, defining a channel to carry an inverted aerosol can of marking material and journaling a measuring wheel having a circumferential length equal to a desired length of firewood. The measuring wheel is journaled between wheel forks carried by and extending from the lower body portion. A protruding dog carried on a face of the measuring wheel engages an actuator carried by the body and communicating with the nozzle of the aerosol can so that each rotation of the measuring wheel causes a dispersal of marking material onto the surface being measured and marked.

  • Patent number: 7000531
Abstract: A nutcracker for simultaneously cracking a plurality of similar nuts in a single discreet operation provides a five sided box-like base defining a chamber having an open top, carrying a rigid bottom plate bottom and defining a slot in the front side extending downwardly to the bottom for nut shell removal. One or more spacers configured to fit within the cracking box chamber above the bottom plate, defining similar medial orifices and having different vertical thicknesses are stacked on the bottom plate to define a cracking chamber having a depth of eighty to ninety percent of the average height of nuts to be cracked. A striker plate having a non-resilient body with peripheral configuration to cover the orifice of the spacer and an upstanding handle manually impacts on the uppermost spacer to crack nuts in the cracking chamber.

  • Patent number: 6846459
Abstract: A peripherally defined resilient ampule for storage and dispersement of encapsulated material provides a rearward cylinder-like reservoir body communicating through a transition element to a forwardly extending tapering spout defining a geometrically similar channel therethrough to a sealed tip to create an enclosed containment chamber. The forward portion of the spout may be angulated relative to the body axis. The ampule is formed of resiliently deformable thermal plastic that is configurationally sustaining, but manually deformable for expression of contained material. The spout may be severed at selected axial positions to determine orifice size and configuration and may carry ancillary dispersement devices. A forming process is disclosed to form the ampule from a molded blank of thermal plastic material by thermally activating and drawing the spout, optionally angulating the forward spout portion and sealing the forward spout end.
