  • Patent number: 6565504
Abstract: This invention provides a method and apparatus operable within an interactive computer device for presentation to the visual and auditory senses. The invention uses the creation and use of a custom hypnosis script to induce a state of hypnosis and make behavioral suggestions, Through questions presented, the user is queried for the user's preferences for hypnotic induction imagery and behavioral suggestion. The user enters the preferences, employing a keyboard, and/or a mouse, and/or other such device used to enter information. The program inserts the user responses into a preprogrammed textual material to compile a complete hypnosis script. A text-to-speech component of the program enables the user to then listen to the custom hypnosis script, and thereby experience a complete, custom hypnosis.

  • Patent number: 5927795
Abstract: A vehicle body has one or more aerodynamic devices mounted on each side of the vehicle afterbody so that a gap exists between each device and the adjacent body side which may be boattailed and/or recessed so as to accomodate the device and to permit a substantial airflow between the device and the vehicle body side and to provide a gap from which that flow is discharged downstream. The device may additionally or instead take the form of spats around the rear wheels of a road vehicle, or as additions to the spats.

  • Patent number: 5767165
Abstract: A process for the production of methanol from natural gas containing methane comprising the thermal decomposition of methane and the subsequent reaction of the resulting hydrogen gas with carbon dioxide in a catalyst containing methanol synthesis reactor to produce methanol. Alternative methods include the gasification with carbon dioxide of at least a portion of the carbon produced by the decomposing step, to produce carbon monoxide, which is then reacted with hydrogen gas to produce methanol; or the reforming of a portion of the natural gas feedstock used in the decomposing step with carbon dioxide to produce carbon monoxide and hydrogen gas, which carbon monoxide and hydrogen are then combined with additional hydrogen from the natural gas decomposing step in a methanol synthesis reactor to produce methanol. The methods taught reduce the overall amount of carbon dioxide resulting from the methanol production process.

  • Patent number: 5622202
Abstract: A tamper proof fire hydrant which may only be operated by the application of pressurized fluid. The pressurized fluid engages the fire hydrant and travels through a pathway in the upper portion of the fire hydrant. The pressurized fluid engages a turbinelike impeller and then the pressurized fluid pressure rotates the impeller, the impeller is connected to a worm gear and turns the worm gear which then operates to open the hydrant's water main valve. Later the flow of fluid is then reversed in order to turn the turbinelike impeller in the opposite direction thereby causing the worm gear to operate to close the hydrant's water main valve. A cylinder and piston may be used in place if the impeller and worm gear, to open and close a water main valve in response to the application of pressurized fluid to the fire hydrant from an external source.

  • Patent number: RE35377
Abstract: An intergrated recycle process for the production of methanol from a process synthesis gas produced by hydrogasification of a condensed carbonaceous feedstock to produce a process gas which is reacted in a steam pyrolysis reactor with additional natural gas and steam to produce said synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide in more than a 2:1 molar ratio which constituents in turn are reacted in a methanol synthesis reactor to produce methanol. The important factor in this process includes the sequence of reactors of the condensed carbonaceous material: a hydrogasification reactor; the stream and natural gas pyrolysis reactor; the methanol synthesis reactor and the recycling to the hydrogasification reactor of the hydrogen-rich gas stream remaining after the methanol synthesis and separation of the methanol product.
