  • Patent number: 8221678
Abstract: A system and process is provided for removing or treating harmful biologic and organic substances within an enclosure, such as a container, building or vehicle. Air within the enclosure is heated to a predetermined temperature to kill organisms and cause harmful substances in the structure to migrate into the ambient air. Boric acid in combination with the heat may be used to kill mold and similar undesirable organisms. Temperature and pressure levels are monitored. The heated air carrying the harmful substances is passed through a filter to remove the harmful substances, and the heated air is re-circulated to enhance efficiency. The system effectively kills insects, molds, viruses and bacteria and reduces the levels of allergens and volatile organic compounds in the structure.

  • Patent number: 8219098
Abstract: A femtocell base station and method of switching communication services of femtocell base stations. The method establishes an authorization list by which the mobile communication apparatus can be authorized to access the other femtocell base stations within the communication coverage, sets up a communication warning value and a signal capturing duration, performs a timing process when detecting that the signal intensity of itself is less than the communication warning value, and selects another femtocell base station having the highest priority in the priority list as an object for performing a switching process when the timing process counts to the signal capturing duration and the signal intensity of itself is less than the signal intensity of the other femtocell base station having the highest priority in the priority list, so as to interconnect the mobile communication terminal.

  • Patent number: 8200328
Abstract: A TANK filter is provided for a lead wire of an active medical device (AMD). The TANK filter includes a capacitor in parallel with an inductor. The parallel capacitor and inductor are placed in series with the lead wire of the AMD, wherein values of capacitance and inductance are selected such that the TANK filter is resonant at a selected frequency. The Q of the inductor may be relatively maximized and the Q of the capacitor may be relatively minimized to reduce the overall Q of the TANK filter to attenuate current flow through the lead wire along a range of selected frequencies. In a preferred form, the TANK filter is integrated into a TIP and/or RING electrode for an active implantable medical device.

  • Patent number: 8172038
Abstract: A silencer for a two-stroke engine includes a first chamber and a second chamber, wherein a flow channel is provided between an outlet of a combustion chamber and the first chamber. A high charge degree of the combustion chamber has a pressure ratio in the region of the outlet which reduces or prevents an escape of fresh gas from the combustion chamber. The flow channel between the outlet and the first chamber is flow-favorably shaped in such a manner that the exhaust gas that flows out of the outlet because of its mass inertia predominantly flows into the first chamber and following charging of the first chamber flows back again and as a result a back pressure is formed in the direction of the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 8161786
Abstract: Incoming tubes are turned and fed into a pilger mill by use of a single gearbox using a rotating dual track drive system. The dual track system holds the incoming tube while tube reducing (metal tube forming) occurs by the pilger tooling. When the pilger tooling is free of the incoming tube product, the dual track drive moves the tube into the pilger tooling by feeding an incremental amount of tube product. The dual track drive also indexes the incoming tube at the correct time and at a pre-determined amount. Additionally, the gearbox sub-assembly bumps the tube at a pre-determined time while the tube is free from the tooling.
