  • Patent number: 5328027
Abstract: A corrugated paperboard blank that folds together to form a container for enclosing a tank or other fragile article. A pair of seats space the article from a bottom and an upper support extends inwardly to hold the article from movement during shipping and handling. A support panel foldably attaches to an offset flange at an upper edge of the container. The flange spaces the support panel below the upper edge of the container for holding items, such as a lid, separate from the article in the container. The container closes without staples or adhesive for opening, inspection of the articles and reclosing.

  • Patent number: 5324318
Abstract: A cryotherapeutic apparatus is disclosed for treating an injury with a cold compress system that has a flexible application bag coupled with a cold liquid supply container via a flexible tube. The flexible application bag is secured about a body member with the bag in contact with the area of injury. The supply container is elevated above the bag so that cold liquid gravitates from the supply container into the application bag causing it to fill and to apply cold and pressure to the area of injury. The height of the supply container above the application bag is adjusted to establish the desired pressure exerted by the application bag upon injury.

  • Patent number: 5318180
Abstract: An insert having a central bottom panel with two end panels and two top flanges foldably connected by spaced-apart scores for forming a U-shape insert that is received by a conventional regular slotted container. A pair of elongate members attach to the bottom panel to provide increased bottom rigidity to the container. A pair of cleats attach to each of the side panels and a lower end of the cleat rests on an upper surface of one of the elongate members. A transverse member attaches to each top flange and is supported on an upper end of the cleats. The transverse member supports a top load on the container and the cleats communicate the top load to the elongate members. An enclosed container is disclosed for holding an article on the elongate members by wrapping the insert and the article thereon with a film.

  • Patent number: 5316319
Abstract: A liveload assembly having a stack guide with a thread on the exterior side wall, a plurality of compressible belleville washers stacked inside the stack guide, and a retainer cap having a thread on an inner side wall for matingly engaging with the stack guide to hold the belleville washers in compression. The gland follower of a fluid flow apparatus is liveloaded by placing the liveload assembly over the bolt extending upwardly from the gland follower. A nut is threaded on the bolt to contact the stack of belleville washers and the retainer cap is unscrewed to a second position on the stack guide and fixed by turning a set screw through a bore in the cap and against the side of the stack guide. Compression of the gland follower is monitored by viewing the relative movement of the stack of belleville washers through a longitudinal slot in the side wall.
