Abstract: A solid state thyristor bridge inverter power supply for an ozonator in which the width and the amplitude of the ozonator current can be controlled and the ozonator voltage can be selectively reset. The power supply circuit includes a diode bridge rectifier for converting a commercial AC power main into a direct current power source which is coupled to a current source DC/AC inverter through a inductor and a current detecting circuit. A current amplitude control circuit controls the output current of the DC power source by comparing the output of the detecting circuit with a reference set point. Logic circuits are provided for controlling the frequency and the width of current pulses applied to the ozonator.

Abstract: A versatile pulsed voltage resonant inverter power supply for an ozonator which results in the efficient operation thereof. A resonant inverter ozonator power supply comprises a DC power source and a DC/AC thyristor inverter coupled at its outputs to the primary winding of a high voltage transformer. The ozonator load is connected across the secondary winding of transformer and provides a discharge path during each high frequency cycle. First and second embodiments of control circuits are disclosed for generating gating control signals for the thyristors. The switching frequency at which the thyristors are triggered is selected to be lower than the circuit resonant frequency in order that the load voltage supplied by the inverter is substantially pulsed, and a pulse burst modulation mode is also disclosed.

Abstract: An intermetallic compound is disclosed. The compound is formed by reacting a first reaction product, the first reaction product being the product of reaction of a polymeric transition metal oxide alkoxide with a reducing metal having a higher oxidation potential than the transition metal, the polymeric transition metal oxide alkoxide being the product of the controlled partial hydrolysis of a transition metal alkoxide, with a first halide activator to produce a second reaction product. The second reaction product, in turn, is reacted with a second halide activator to form the intermetallic compound. The intermetallic compound is useful as a catalyst component in a catalyst system for the polymerization of alpha-olefins. The catalyst system includes, in addition to the intermetallic compound, a cocatalyst, an organic compound which includes an element selected from the group consisting of aluminum and boron.
