Abstract: An encoder for encoding light moving through a grating having alternating opaque and translucent or transparent divisions thereon. Inclusion of a gradient index lens reflector into the encoder eliminates the physical mask required for resolution of finely drawn opaque lines of line pairs.
Abstract: A device and automated method for inserting spacers into grooves of frames. The device and method are particularly useful in the woodworking industry. Resilient substances are severed into sections to form the spacers which are thereafter pneumatically inserted into the groove. The apparatus can be provided with a positioner for advancing the resilient substance. A timer may also be utilized to calibrate actuation of the device.
Abstract: A device and automated method for inserting spacers into grooves (22). The insertion of spacers into the grooves (22) of wooden doors (20) is particularly useful for aligning parts of the door (20) , such as, panel components and the like of the door (20). Use of the insertion device and method can eliminate the necessity of inserting spacers, by hand, into grooves (22).
Abstract: A gradient index lens which reflects light and focuses a corresponding image. The reflector can be easily incorporated to optical devices, and is particularly suitable for encoders position detectors, or other instrumentation utilizing line gratings.
Abstract: A process for applying color to an article made of clay. Color can be applied to such diverse articles as pottery, earthenware, figurines, ceramics, porcelains, china, tiles domes and other decorative roofings. The application of color to clay articles is easily adapted to industrial, commercial or artistic uses.
Abstract: A device for finishing the corner of an impression of the profile. Corners of impressions of doors manufactured in one-piece are shaped to give the appearance of a mitered joint where a joint does not exist. By selecting the appropriate cutter, sides of the corners of differing profiles can be mitered to corresponding forty-five degree angles relative to the square of the corner.
Abstract: A pneumatic actuator for a trailer landing gear reduction assembly for directing the raising or lowering of the feet of a trailer. The pneumatic actuator replaces the hand crank which has traditionally been used for turning a gear reduction assembly of the trailer. The present invention can be incorporated onto the already existing trailer landing gear or the present invention can be milled directly onto the newly manufactured trailer.
