  • Patent number: 5251378
Abstract: A cutting implement employing a pair of rollers placed vertically one above the other, the rollers having sharpened edges that slightly overlap and touch each other at a selected position, forming a cutting point where they touch. When the rollers are rotated, the sharpened edges form a continuous cutting edge for cutting material such as most paper and plastics. The rollers are provided with a degree of toe-in in the direction of rotation to insure that they remain in contact with each other during the cutting process. The rollers are rotatably mounted to a stiff carrier to provide dimensionally predictable location of the rollers with respect to each other, and to insure the smooth flow of material through the rollers as the material is being cut.

  • Patent number: 4281459
Abstract: A hand-held nibbling tool for sheet metal or other thin material is provided with a reciprocating punch which on its upward stroke moves the metal to be chipped against a readily replaceable cutting die positioned in a die holder attached to the lower end of the tool. The tool is provided with a conventional reciprocating mechanism driven in a known manner by a conventional air or electric motor. The reciprocating punch is connected to the reciprocating mechanism by a piston rod supported for a substantial part of its length in a sleeve within the die holder. The said die holder, moreover, is provided with one or more passages extending upwardly from the die and outwardly of the die holder so as to permit the chips thrown upwardly by the action of the punch against the die to be removed from the nibbling area. The die itself has an internal opening cooperating with the aforesaid passages.

  • Patent number: 4262823
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a so-called pressure accumulation type atomizing pump provided with no gravity-actuated check valve and having an upper hollow piston and a lower pistion adapted to be simultaneously moved downward along the inner surface of a valve cylinder, upon a depression of an atomizing push button, the upper and lower piston being adapted to pressurize the liquid accommodated by a housing chamber defined within the valve cylinder between the pistons. The increased pressure of the liquid acts to depress the lower piston to open a check valve leading to a nozzle, so that the pressurized liquid is atomized finely from the nozzle. The lower piston is so arranged as to effectively cooperate with the upper piston in sucking the liquid up during the sucking stroke of the pump and to additionally increase the sucking capacity of the pump.
