  • Patent number: 5899473
Abstract: A mudguard comprises a first portion that is fixed relative to the frame of a bicycle and a second arcuate portion mounted to tracks associated with the first portion to be extended from or telescoped therein as desired. The distal end of the second portion is supported by struts which are rotatable about a rim forming a part of a mount secured to the wheel axis in concentric relation therewith. The arrangement permits a relatively rattle free attachment of the mudguard.

  • Patent number: 5649511
Abstract: A washerless closure plug for closing althreaded opening in the block of automotive engines includes an externally threaded nipple surrounded by a sharp shoulder, which shoulder is provided with a pair of forwardly facing ribs. When the nipple is screwed into an engine block the ribs form a seal with the block wall to resist leakage from the block and to damp the transmission of vibrational forces from the block to the closure plug which tend to unscrew the closure plug from the block.

  • Patent number: 5606938
Abstract: In an engine having free floating reciprocating pistons each with a cam follower which bears on a tri lobed cam, the pistons are arranged in one or more banks of four pistons each of which extends over an angular interval of 90.degree.. Where two banks of four pistons are utilized, the banks may be separated by an angular interval of 30.degree. or 90.degree.. The tri-lobed cam may be sinuously shaped with different profiles according to the desired characteristics of the engine.

  • Patent number: 5595439
Abstract: A lampholder for decorative strings of lights comprises at least two clips, one of which is radially oriented, the other of which is axially oriented, the axially oriented clip being formed as an extension of the radially oriented clip. Preferably a second axially oriented clip is provided in diametrically and axially opposed relationship to the first axial clip. The clips permit the lampholders to be secured to widely different types of supports that may be adventitiously found in a dwelling structure or that may be easily provided and attached thereto, and in different orientations, thereby facilitating the decoration of the dwelling. Suitably and preferably the clips are integrally molded with the body of the lampholder.

  • Patent number: 5577429
Abstract: An elongated cutting table has a guide bar assembly pivotally connected thereto which is rotatable to change the cutting angle. The pivoting arrangement acts to retain a fixed point adjacent the rearward side of the table on the cutting path defined by the guide bar assembly at all times, while retaining a forward edge of the table in proximity to a safety shield disposed on the guide bar assembly forwardly of the forward edge. The cutting table is particularly adapted for use in sawing long, thin work such as siding.

Abstract: A washerless block heater for automotive engines includes an externally threaded nipple surrounded by a sharp shoulder, which shoulder is provided with a pair of forwardly facing ribs. When the nipple is screwed into an engine block the ribs form a seal with the block wall to resist leakage from the block and to damp the transmission of vibrational forces from the block to the heater body which tend to unscrew the heater from the block.

  • Patent number: 5533209
Abstract: A garment suited for a young child comprises cuffs which are devoid of any hem at their distal end and which have hidden side seams. A pouch overlays the cuff at the distal end; the pouch is invertible over the cuff end to enclose an appendage such as a hand or foot of the wearer within the cuff. When the pouch is not inverted, the cuff may be turned back to expose the appendage.

  • Patent number: 5506981
Abstract: An accelerator board for use in replacing the microprocessor of a slow speed system board with a microprocessor operating at a higher clock speed. The clock signal of the accelerator board is derived from the clock signal of the system board by first deriving a sub-harmonic frequency which is a common denominator of both the system board and the accelerator board clock signal, and using the sub-harmonic signal to control a phase locked loop oscillator to provide the desired clock speed for the accelerator board. The arrangement provides a known phase relationship between the system clock signal and the accelerator board clock signal ( which facilitates data transfer between the system board and the accelerator board. The arrangement also provides a stable clock signal for the accelerator board in those instances where the clock speed of the system board may change for certain I/O operations of the system board.

  • Patent number: 5468062
Abstract: A two tiered drawer rack includes a base tray having a flange along each longitudinal side with, an upwardly facing track extending along each flange, and an upper tray with bearings which co-operate with the tracks to permit the upper tray to be moved between a forward position and a rearward position in which access is gained to the contents of the base tray. The tracks may be suitably molded into the flanges.

  • Patent number: 5450574
Abstract: An accelerator board for use in replacing the microprocessor of a computer system board having a system clock. The accelerator board includes a high frequency oscillator which may be stopped and started under the influence of a clock enable signal. The clock enable signal is synchronized with the phase and logic state of the system clock, to form a clock select signal which serves to toggle a clock selector. When a system access is requested, clock enable stops the high frequency oscillator in a specific phase and logic state, and also toggles the clock selector to select the system clock as the clock speed for all accelerator board operations, giving a smooth transfer. When system access is no longer requested, the high frequency oscillator is restarted and is selected by the clock selector for all accelerator board operations. No time delay is encountered in switching from low to high speeds.
