Abstract: A sequential catalysis of the ring opening polymerization of cyclic organosiloxanes using a base catalyst that can be neutralized by a subsequent redistribution and condensation Lewis acid catalyst, preferably a phosphonitrilic compound, permits the rapid synthesis of functionalized and poly-functionalized silicone copolymers such as alkenyl hydride copolymers, a new composition of matter, which is a one component curable silicone by means of hydrosilylation or peroxide initiated free radical polymerization. The alkenyl hydride copolymer is formulated into a curable composition, emulsified and coated onto an automobile airbag and subsequently cured.
Abstract: Organic pressure-sensitive adhesive and silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive composites have improved shear strength upon the addition of a silicone cross-linking agent.

Abstract: A composition (comprising) an M-rich silicone and a catalyst is useful for de-polymerizing polymerized silicones thereby facilitating the recycle of electrical devices by enabling the removal of silicone coatings thereon.
Abstract: Silicone release agents comprising propenyl-ether functionalized silicones exhibit a rapid cationic induce photo-cure. Such propenyl-ether functionalized silicones are synthesized by the hydrosilation of various .alpha.-allyloxy-.omega.-(1-propenoxy) alkanes with various linear and cyclic hydrogen functional siloxanes.
Abstract: A standardized test for measuring the stringiness of room temperature vulcanizable silicone sealant compositions is disclosed wherein a tube of sealant is held at a constant angle to the surface upon which the sealant is being applied. The surface is movable and once a small bead of sealant has been deposited upon the surface the surface is moved at a constant rate of speed until the sealant bead breaks off from the source. The length of any string of sealant formed thereby is measured. This measurement for a given composition is compared to the measurement for other compositions and thereby allows optimization of sealant compositions to minimize an undesirable feature.
