  • Patent number: 8343680
Abstract: A shutoff value provided on the entrance side and exit side of a fuel cell system has a diaphragm. A valve closing-side pressure chamber is provided on the upper face side of the diaphragm, and a valve opening-side pressure chamber is provided on the lower face side of the diaphragm. With the valve closing-side pressure chamber of the shutoff valve pressurized, the pressure in the chamber is maintained by ViS, Vic, and ViO in an electrically non-conducted state. Also, the pressure in the valve opening-side pressure chamber of the shutoff valve is maintained released. By this, force acting in the direction of closing a valving element acts on it through the diaphragm, maintaining the shutoff valve closed.

  • Patent number: 8345774
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method of controlling a video decoder, including a reviewing channel data representing coded video data generated by an encoder to identify parameters of a hypothetical reference decoder (HRD) used by the encoder during coding operations. A parameter representing an exit data rate requirement of a coded picture buffer (CPB) of the HRD is compared against exit rate performance of the video decoder. If the exit rate performance of the video coder matches the exit rate requirement of the HRD, the coded video data is decoded, otherwise, a certain decoding degradation scheme can be applied, including disabling decoder from decoding the coded video data.

  • Patent number: 8343679
Abstract: While the operation of a fuel cell is stopped, a pressure decrease caused by a current sweep is suppressed from being misjudged as being the occurrence of a hydrogen leak or a cross leak, and the judgment accuracy of the hydrogen leak, etc. is improved. In order to realize this feature, during an intermittent operation, in which, when a load on the fuel cell system is low, electrical power is supplied from a power storage unit in the fuel cell system to a power-consuming apparatus and power generation of a fuel cell is temporarily stopped, in the situation where a current sweep for suppressing a degradation of the fuel cell is performed, a hydrogen pressure in an anode of the fuel cell is corrected based on hydrogen consumed by the current sweep, and a hydrogen leak judgment based on a pressure decrease or a cross leak judgment based on a pressure decrease is performed on the basis of the corrected hydrogen pressure.

  • Patent number: 8345775
Abstract: A technique is provided for processing decoded video data to mask visual compression artifacts resulting from video compression. In accordance with this technique, a hardware block is provided for generating and adding random noise to the decoded video stream. In one embodiment, a random number is generated for each pixel of the decoded video data and compared against one or more threshold values to determine a threshold range. In such an embodiment, a noise addend value is selected based upon the threshold comparison and summed with the current pixel. While the present technique may not eliminate the compression artifacts, the addition of random noise renders the compression artifacts less noticeable to the human eye and, therefore, more aesthetically pleasing to a viewer.
