Abstract: A shaving razor includes a cartridge having a cartridge housing and a handle. The cartridge housing has a front edge, a rear edge and two side edges extending from the front edge to the rear edge. One or more shaving blades are located on the housing and between the front edge and the rear edge. A connecting member is connected to the cartridge housing and includes a deflectable element defining at least a portion of an opening extending through the connecting member. The handle includes a handle interconnect member that includes a protrusion having an enlarged distal end and angled side surfaces extending from the distal end to a base.
Abstract: The invention is directed to an improvement of performance for disposable absorbent articles to prevent a leakage of body discharges. A disposable absorbent article comprising: an absorbent body having an average width of from about 5 mm to about 30 mm. The first resilient material is disposed between the body facing surface and the garment facing surface of the absorbent article; and a first resilient material disposed between the body facing surface and the absorbent body in a circumferential manner such that at least a part of the body facing surface of the absorbent article forms a raised circumferential bank in the central region and a concave portion surrounded by the raised circumferential bank. The first resilient material is selected from the group consisting of a polymeric foam material, a fibrous material, an elastic material, a formed film material, an absorbent gelling material, and a mixture thereof.
Abstract: A sanitary napkin which deforms to a convex upwardly shaped cross section. The sanitary napkin has a line of weakness which is symmetric about the longitudinal axis and longitudinally concave towards the lateral centerline. In a preferred embodiment, the line of weakness is discontinuous and comprises discrete sites joining the topsheet and core. The discrete sites may be bilaterally staggered about the line of weakness.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a disposable absorbent article. The disposable absorbent article of the present invention includes a fluid storage layer disposed between the topsheet and backsheet and having a body-facing surface and a garment-facing surface opposing the body-facing surface. The fluid storage layer contains a superabsorbent material. The disposable absorbent article further includes an odor reduction layer disposed at either the body-facing surface side or the body-facing surface side of the fluid storage layer. The odor reduction layer contains a metalphthalocyanine material. The disposable absorbent article further includes an isolation means disposed between the superabsorbent material and the odor reduction layer for isolating the metalphthalocyanine material from contacting at least a part of the superabsorbent material.
Abstract: The disposable excreta management device has a longitudinal centerline, a transverse centerline, a wearer-facing surface and an opposing surface. The disposable excreta management device comprises a flexible bag to contain excreta and an adhesive flange to attach the device to the body of a wearer. The flexible bag has an opening positioned on the wearer-facing surface. The excreta management device has an orifice provided on the flexible bag and comprises a seal means to resealably close the orifice. A peel force of the seal means to the surface of the flexible bag is between 0.3 N/cm and 4.0 N/cm.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a menstrual fluid management device that is attached directly to the wearer by use of an adhesive. The device allows for direct and immediate containment of menstrual and other vaginal discharges. In particular, the device improves the prevention of soiling over devices already known in the art by using an attachment flange around an orifice which has a shape of the generally oblong dimensions, where the width in the rear end of the orifice is wider than at the front end, thereby improving the circumscription of the female genitalia and the sealing along the flange to the skin of the wearer.

Abstract: The applicator is used for a placement of an excreta management device on a wearer. The applicator has a longitudinal centerline, a transverse centerline, a device facing surface and an opposing surface. The applicator comprises a handle disposed at transverse ends, a pressure portion disposed along the longitudinal centerline, a middle portion disposed between the handle and the pressure portion and a spacer. When the applicator folded into a pair of right and left pieces along the longitudinal centerline, the spacer is inserted between the right and left pieces. The pressure portion presses the excreta management device toward the wearer's skin during the use of the applicator. The opposing surface of the right piece and the opposing surface of the left piece are separated from one another at the middle portion by the spacer when the applicator is folded.
