  • Patent number: 4544003
Abstract: A mechanism for straightening bent terminals on an integrated circuit package comprises a base having a pair of spaced apart arms pivotally coupled thereto. Rollers attach to the arms to support and move a plate when the arms are pivoted. The plate has a first set of holes which are tapered to accept bent terminals and to straighten them when they are forced into the taper. A plurality of pins extend from the base between the arms and stop parallel to the plate. The plate has a second set of holes through which the pins move when the arms are pivoted. A plurality of intermeshed gears couple to the base and the arms to pivot the arms in synchronization and move the plate perpendicular to the pins which push the integrated circuit package straight out of the first set of holes.

  • Patent number: 4544882
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed which provides for testing a wide variety of different types of electrical circuit devices, such as PROM integrated circuit chips, with very little if any programming being required, and without concern as to which of the terminals of the chip are inputs or outputs. The testing apparatus achieves this result by taking advantage of the significant difference in the input and output impedances of most chips to permit treating the logical levels on both inputs and outputs of the chip in a like manner while generating a running signature output in response to a series of input test patterns, the resulting final signature obtained being indicative of the operation of the chip. Provision is also made for testing circuits having internal storage and/or requiring special power or clock inputs.

  • Patent number: 4542457
Abstract: A data transfer system whereby a peripheral-controller manages data transfers between the host computer and a magnetic tape peripheral unit. Data undergoing transit, is temporarily stored in a buffer memory of the peripheral-controller and is monitored by a block counter monitoring system which informs a program-sequencer in the common control circuit unit of the peripheral-controller when data may be shifted into or out of the buffer memory in order to avoid or reduce the probability of access error conditions.

  • Patent number: 4542505
Abstract: A plurality of digital signals from a standard reference digital module can be compared to the corresponding digital signals from a comparable module undergoing test. Thus, a plurality of output signals from the reference module can be compared with the comparable plurality of digital signals from the module under test. A select multiplexor receives the pairs of signals from the source modules and conveys the signal pairs to each of a plurality of skew comparison circuits for analysis and error reporting to a maintenance controller processor. The select multiplexor also permits a self-test generator to check out the skew compare circuitry and also permits a mask register, programmed by the maintenance controller processor, to select only those signal pairs which it is desired to analyze, rather than merely checking all the available pairs of lines in the system.

  • Patent number: 4532606
Abstract: A new and improved content addressable memory cell is disclosed, which cell stores data supplied on a load data input terminal thereof. The disclosed memory cell is adapted for comparing data supplied on a compare data input terminal thereof with data stored in the cell, and for supplying an output signal on a match data output terminal when the compare data is the same as the data stored in the cell. A latch circuit is employed as the storage element of the cell. First and second means are each coupled between a reference potential and the match data output terminal, which means are operative in response to the state of the latch circuit and the compare data supplied on the compare data input terminal.

  • Patent number: 4530551
Abstract: The present disclosure describes an insulated electrical contact pin for use in making wiring changes in an interconnection medium such as a printed circuit board or backplane. More specifically, the present pin replaces the original compliant press-fit type pin mounted in a plated-through hole on the board. The pin is formed in two sections--one section having a threaded extremity, and the other, a tapped bore to receive the former. The pin is mounted in a plated-through hole on the printed wiring board by screwing the two sections together. Portions of the pin sections are electrically insulated from the wiring traces situated on or below the board surface. The present contact pin is versatile, easy to install and tolerance-free with respect to the dimensions of the plated-through hole in which it is mounted.
